Switching supplier

My parents has initial the dual fuel switch from SSE (standard tariff) to E.ON GO Online 1 Year v16 tariff via energy club yesterday and I believe SSE will ask for the final meter readings for the final bill when the switch is in progress however they don't have an online account with them to submit the readings so will SSE contact them over the phone to provide the meter readings?

They should provide the closing reads to Eon, who as gaining supplier handle the whole process.
Or they can just phone SSE: no online account is required. You can usually submit readings online by just entering your account number anyway.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Hello Jackkz and welcome to the Forums.

As macman says, as the gaining supplier, it's our responsibility to look after the switch. We'll be in touch with your parents a few days before it's due to complete to ask for meter readings. They can phone us or use our online Live Chat service. Alternatively, they can pop them on our website.

We'll send our opening readings to their old supplier. They'll use the same readings to close their account. This stops the same energy from being charged twice. The readings go through a third party (Data Collector) who checks they're in line with previous readings held for the property. Sometimes they make a change and both suppliers need to use the revised readings. Again, to stop any duplication of charges.

If your parents register with our website, they can see how their switch is going through the 'Track My Switch' service.

Hope this explains Jackkz. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.
