Huge electricity bill out of the blue!
I have been with Sainsbury's Energy (i.e. British Gas) for over two years and have typically been paying £200+ per month via direct debit. In January, I noticed the direct debit jumped up to £1,427 which was a massive shock. I rang SE and they said it was due to too many estimated readings so they have to catch up on what…

Any comment appreciated. DRAYTON DIGISTAT 2RF Plus
having purchased a new house, the first thing I did was renewing the central heating system. The heating from the Worcester Bosch boiler is controlled by a DRAYTON DIGISTAT 2RF Plus, which is the most complicated controlled I have ever seen and I have used a number of controllers over the years. It is not a straightforward…

How long before I can switch?
I'm moving into rented accommodation in a few weeks and I'd like to switch the energy provider if the current tariff isn't good. I know I have to provide them with a meter reading on the day I move in and set up a new account but is there a certain amount of time I have to wait before I can start a switch? And if the…

Hi My husband and I bought our home back in July. We love the house, and are happy for it to be our forever home. Increased Electricity Bill - Smart Meter Install
Hi; We had a SMART meter fitted a while ago and have noticed a sharp rise in our electricity bill (approx doubled!). Details TBC. I'm sure we were paying around £90 a qtr which has risen to £170 in the last qtr. I have read a few posts with people observing the same issue but most seem to have rolled over that this is due…

Query re gas meter inside cupboard - needs bracket
I was lucky enough to have a boiler fitted under the Eco scheme a few days ago. While they were here, the plumber said that the gas meter should be bracketed as you can move it inside the meter cupboard. He also mentioned the piping on one side, I can't remember what he said about that but it doesn't fit new regulations.…

BG smart meter
I apologise if this has already been covered elsewhere. I've just recently signed up for a BG fixed tarrif (twice actually, like to keep up with the savings) I noticed within the sign up process that I had to agree to a smart meter installation by a certain date. Can this be enforced ( I didn't think so), as I certainly…

British Gas Boiler Cover
My British Gas boiler cover renews in March and the renewal was 20% higher than the current year. I phoned to complain and they immediately gave me a renewal at the same cost as this year. I also said that I had not had my annual service in 2017 and that the first available slot was April. They then gave me a £65 rebate…
