Can't use First Utility mobile app because of billing platform?
I'm a new First Utility customer with an electric smart meter and I'm unable to login to the app to check my live energy usage (they claim it can do that for the lack of an in-home display unit), it gives this error: Thanks for downloading the app. We're sorry but your account is not able to use the mobile app at the…

Scottish Power, what to do now??
I'm after some advice on what i can do about my issues with Scottish Power now i seem to have exhausted most options. I moved into my property in November 2014 and as the energy was already being supplied by SP i decided to stay with them as its seemed to be the simplest option. I phoned them and gave meter readings for…

SSE smart meter, is it worth it?
Hi, I'm currently on a fixed collective tariff with SSE and will probably switch away from them when it ends (early next year). They've sent me an email asking me to book a visit to install a smart meter. Is there any advantage to it? Also, if I switch to EDF or another provider, will the smart meter still work? Thanks.

Taking Scottish Power To Court
Please bear with me as this story is going to be a long one, but it needs to be told if only to serve as a warning to anyone thinking of getting involved with the shower known as Scottish Power… In July 2015 I bought a property that had storage heaters and dual electric meters, but no gas. I had a gas supply provisioned by…

Can I apply to more than one energy supplier, running Boiler Grant, at the same time? If I have already applied and have a quote, where I have been asked to pay £###, for specific boiler. Can I : - call another energy supplier and ask for a boiler grant, so maybe I can get better price - or different boiler I believe that…

Kitchen electric heating question
Hi all. Looking for advice about heating a kitchen of about 10 square metres (2 x 5). No gas. We don't want a fan heater (either in the kicker boards or wall mounted) for various reasons. There is very little low-level wall space available - effectively none - there are cupboards all round the room. So I am looking for…

Cheap Energy Club Switch Issues
Afternoon all! I made an electricity switch from EO to SSE via the CEC on the 20th September 2016. I got through a confirmation saying "Hurrah your switch is now in progress", but I have heard nothing from EON or SSE since. I have contacted SSE today (which is 5 weeks after it was apparently in progress) and they haven't…

I am taking part in the latest BG energy switch (I also did the previous one). My gas has switched, but the electricity has stalled. Energy consumption
I have just been on MSE comparison for dual fuel. My Electric consumption is projected @ 7591 KWH for the year, which seems ok. However, my gas is projected @ 76000 KWH for the year, based on previous consumption. Most comparison sites say 12500 KWH is the average for a 4 bedroom detached house similar to mine. I am trying…

Final bill delay after switch
I recently switched energy supplier. Today marks 16 days since I switched so I tried to telephone EDF regarding when I should expect to receive my final bill (and refund). NPower Energy Usage Tracker
I keep an eye on the Energy Usage Tracker within my NPower account as it helps to ensure I keep track of how much I am spending and more importantly whether the bills are accurate. I noticed recently that it is no longer working and I have been told that this is because I have moved onto Smart Meters. They claim that every…

Hot Cup vs Kettle
I'm toying with the idea of buying a 'one cup' hot water dispenser, in a bid to try and cut down energy usage. Mainly because hubby always boils a full kettle when he wants just one cup. The one I'm looking at is £45, but I'm wondering if the expense of the unit will actually cover the cost of the electricity saved... Has…
