Just had an email today from Places For People with a quote for energy dated 14th September and them welcoming me and looking forward to supplying me.
I've not started any transfer of supply to them or anyone else for that matter.

If you believe it to be a scam then simply ignore it, If as you have posted are appear to be worried then I would suggest that you contact the Company in question and dispute the email welcome from them.0

It's definitely came from them as I checked the email headers + I've emailed them back to see what is going on but auto reply says it can take 5 days for them to respond.0

Having the email headers as the same means nothing as they can made to look like they come from one Company when in actual fact they do not.0

You should talk to your current suppliers and make them aware of this.
If they say you have been, or are in the process of being, transferred, tell them to put a stop on it and instigate an Erroneous Transfer and take back the supply.0 -
Had a look at Places for People on google, and they are a huge outfit with fingers in many pies, including a Houseing Assn. and Leasure sites.
A bit worrying as they also offer Utility tariffs, ( Assume they are a white label brand ), so with a lot of tenants paying them rent there has to be a big temptation to 'Sell' (Strongarm ?) tenants into useing PfP Utilities0 -

I've never had anything to do with them before, but I do remember seeing them on the energy comparison sites once.Stevie_Palimo wrote: »Having the email headers as the same means nothing as they can made to look like they come from one Company when in actual fact they do not.
Seems alot of effort to go through to pretend an email came from a legit source. I checked the email server address and IP from within the headers and they both belong to PfP, so I assume the email came from their servers.0 -
Although small, I've once all twice stumbled across Places for People Energy on ECOES. When I've had to deal with them as a supplier, they seem pretty efficient and extremely helpful, albeit with significant prompting on what needs to be done and chasing from our end. I believe they are some sort of housing/property development company that has decided to run an energy business rather than use a major energy firm for there properties.
LeeUK, why don't you call them, rather than wait five working days? This way, you could put a stop to any switch. Most suppliers are obliging, the only one that I know can be a little difficult to cool off with is a big six Scottish supplier.Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0
