Boiler Efficiency
We have a 10 yr old gas boiler - working fine . It's just a bog standard boiler , not combi or condensing. Is there any way of finding out how it compares in the efficiency stakes , compared with the latest ones on the market . ??

Eon & Bank Account Error
Something odds happened this week. Firstly, I have to admit, I don't look at my Bank Statements, but instead occasionally use the my Banking Phone App for the past few transactions. So I've found out this week, that for past 13mths, it transpires my Eon account has been debiting the monthly payments from another bank…

Do you care about the energy mix?
Personally I wouldn't use any supplier who generates the majority of their energy using coal and I'm not too keen on Natural Gas either, so my choices are rather limited. Luckily co-op are rather competitive with their prices at the moment and have a large renewables share, previously I've used EDF because their prices…

Pressure Gauge -Sealed System -General question
Any Plumbers and Scientists out there? Just a little confused about why there is a temporary drop in pressure in a sealed system as soon as one switches on the Central Heating ? I've noticed the pressure gauge falls about 0.5mb almost instantaneously and then creeps back up. Does the sudden flow of water in a sealed system…

Is this right?
An elderly friend has gone into a nursing home for good. The property is to be put on sale in a month or so once its sorted and emptied --it may take a long time to sell , for various reasons --so friend asked me to get gas and leccy disconnected till its sold , so as not to pay out the £3 a week standing charge . SSE tell…

MSE want us to switch now?
I,m a little bemused at Mse "Now is the perfect time to switch and save your energy" with only Eon cutting prices so far, wouldn't it be better to say wait until all others have made their move before making a decision switch

Is this realistic, use 35% less gas?
I currently use about 17,000 kWh of gas a year with my old inefficient warm air heating and HWC for hot water. Is it realistic for me to use 35% less gas a year when I replace my old inefficient heating with a modern combi boiler?

Eon - switching fixed price tariff - money saving tip
I don't know if this applies to other energy companies but you are not obliged to run your fixed price tariff to its end date with Eon. You can switch to a newer one if it is cheaper without paying any exit penalty. Their exit penalties only apply if you are switching to a different supplier. Providing you are only…

Npower billing
Hi, Probably not a new thing to post here, but I think I've fell for Npower's useless ways. Signed up in November, and initially they failed to send the gas reading to my old supplier this leaving them billing and taking direct debits for that (it still hasn't been sorted) Then, they failed to accept any meter readings…

Npower - 3rd Party telephony?
Was looking at my bill for the autumn quarter a couple of weks back and saw that there are two charges for '3rd party telephony' and 'agent visit' totaling about £35. No explanation of what these are, and am wondering if anyone here can point me to credible info. FYI, prior to that, this past May, I had a credit reversal…
