Money Saving Big Switch EON
Is anyone else having issues with the swap? We got our welcome e mail on the 4th November and they've only just transferred the Electric so far. We now have 2 separate DD's and are £48 a month worse off until they sort it out. Not quite what I signed up for. Have been contacting EON directly but nothing has happened apart…

Combi boiler vs water tank
Hi all. New to this forum - I've had a search and can't see a similar thread. Apologies if I've missed one and can you please point me to it. Two years ago we moved from a flat with a Combi boiler to a house with a boiler/water tank set-up. The flat had issues with the hot water to the shower (a mm difference in the tap…

Scottish Power -- Contact Us.
Just a general observation about SP. Whenever I have talked to somebody, they are generally pretty helpful. I called today and had a ringback in about 10 mins., so things have improved. The website has a lot of glitches which need sorting out. Booking a callback online is not easy and you can't change your DD without a…

Ideal Logic Warranty
I purchased an ideal logic + boiler a year ago. The plus models come with an extended 5 year warranty and once the thing was installed I completed the paperwork and posted it off. Today I’ve received a letter from Ideal asking me to complete an annual service, costing £80. I must admit I'm a bit shocked because I bought…

OVO Direct Debit - One month in credit at all times
Hello, I queried a rise in my DD and part of the reply said: "As part of our terms and conditions we ask our customers to be one months in credit at all times" Is this usually a condition with other suppliers? Cheers, Guy.

Getting to grips with boiler/tank setup
Every home I've lived in has had a combi-boiler, so over the years I 'got' them (well, they're pretty easy!). But, we've just moved into a home with a standard boiler tank setup, and just need some pointers on how I should be using it to best effect. My setup looks to be fairly new, with a Worcester Greenstar boiler, with…

Issues with heating in new build flat
Hello, I bought a new build (conversion) flat in February of this year, and have noticed since the weather is cold (freezing today) that the central heating is failing to reach the temperature I set it to (21, it only reaches 16). The radiator is hot, so there is no issue there. As a new build the flat comes with a 10 year…

Condensing Boiler Setup/efficiency
By way of background I have a new condensating Valiant ecoTEC plus 28kw Open Vent boiler feeding a wet 17 radiator system with thermostatic valves fitted (qty 16). Existing tariff ending soon and switching advice?
I am guessing I will switch over to my new supplier within 14 days after my current tariff with my current supplier ends tomorrow. During waiting for the switchover do I have to be on my current provider standard tariff or do I have the right to be on a cheaper tariff temporary for days till the switchover happens? Do I…

In Credit for Gas & Electric.....can't I just get my money back?
We are currently £121.01 in credit for our electric and £206.10 in credit for the gas. We have been in credit for the whole of the last year. I have phoned Utility Warehouse and asked for my money back. They said they would have to use the credit balance to pay January's bill and then would release any left over to us at…

N power
I recently switched my gas account to N Power purely on getting cheaper gas. However I have an online account and very impressed with their online facilities. You can now enter your meter readings and now update immediately the cost of gas used since your last bill.

GCH vs fan heater
I realise this must get asked a lot and there are many variables, but hoping for even an educated guestimate Stats:* 2-level, 3 bed ex-council house * Double glazing, loft insulation, neighbour reckons wall cavity insulation present and appears there are signs of it, but not 100% convinced due to house loosing heat quickly…

New boiler, old controls....
Evening all, had a new boiler fitted 2 weeks ago, a WB 24Ri replacing an Ideal W2000. New one is tiny compared to old beastie! Anyways, we're still using the old heating controls - Potterton EP2000 and I'd like to replace it. We also do not have a thermostat in the house, relying previously on boiler setting and trv's on…

Really Need Help Regarding Coin Meter
Hi! I'm after some advice/help regarding my coin meter. Ok, so there is a bit of a back story to this situation. Me and my landlord have fallen out because he wouldn't sort out and treat this mass of mould that had grown in the room behind my childs bed. So after lots of heated words, it was left at that. Then he started…

2 Rate THTC top-up Meters
I have just moved in to a small one bedroom house in Aberdeenshire and am finding that the electricity is costing me massive amounts. I don't use any power at night and very little during the day as I live alone but the meter is clocking up about 15 - 18 pounds PER DAY. It's an SSE meter but it can't be right. does anyone…

full central heating installation
Hi all, I'm a first time home buyer. Viewed a property recently which I really like. Only thing is that it has electric storage heaters. If I purchase the property, i'd be looking to have gas central heating installed. I'm thinking this means pipes would have to be ran for all radiators and to anywhere hot water is…
