Pre-pay gas meter- amounts seem high
Currently seems to be costing about £25 - £30 per week in gas for a small two bedroom house. Is this normal? Any suggestions as to how to reduce?

Best Economy 10 tariff?
Hi there, I'm having trouble finding any info on Economy 10 rates on price comparison sites (Uswitch etc) - seems they all only cover Economy 7. We are using E10 rather than E7 due to the fact that our house has electric underfloor heating (the 'storage' type installed in the concrete floors - so you need the daytime…

Will a solar panel heat one radiator?
We have just had a conservatory/utility room built on the side of our bungalow, 15' x 5'. It has no heating. Would it be practical to install a solar panel to heat one radiator in the room? The only other alternative is an electric heater of some sort which would be far to expensive to run. Thank you.

Immersion Heater (Gas or Electric) or Electric Shower
Hello, We are redoing our bathroom and dont have a combi boiler. Currently we heat our immersion heater up prior to showers/baths etc. We can do this via our GCH or via Electricity. We are considering an electric shower to save on the time/energy of continually switching our immersion on. It takes 10-15 minutes to heat the…

Experience of switching to the smaller energy providers?
My fixed period with M & S energy is coming to an end. I have used Energy Club to do a comparison. The cheaper suggestions include First Utility and NPower which I choose to ignore due to personal experience and negative reviews. The other saver options are the smaller providers which I have never tried before so hesitate…

Scottish Power the worst
It took them ages to transfer me. They lost my first reading. If you try to call them be prepared to stay waiting on the phone for hours before someone answers. All I can say is the are the current cheapest for me with no switching fee.

Leaving Utility Warehouse but......
Firstly I'd like to say Hi (I have been a lurker for ages but have now registered yay!) I'm thinking of leaving UW after going onto a couple of comparison sites (this one included) and realise we can save nearly £500 a year! The only thing is... We have a mobile contract (24 month with a smart phone) with them. Would this…

Despite claiming otherwise, E-ON haven't been taking meter readings...
We've been in our flat for over 2 years now, and when we moved in we quickly discovered that we don't have access to our electricitry meter: it is in a service cupboard that residents don't have access to. We immediately informed EON of this, and they told us its incredibly common, and not to worry as they would be sending…

Cold bathroom making rest of house cold
I've recently moved into a rented house and I'm struggling with the heating. We have all the radiators on in the house (3 bed terrace with bathroom downstairs) and can get it to 18 after a couple of hours of the heating being on. As soon as it's switched off it drops to 16. The radiator in the bathroom is the one that has…

Warning re 24/7 Home Rescue
Dear all I just wanted to give some feed back on the terrible service we have had this Christmas from 24/7 Home Rescue. Firstly, they are not 24/7 - whist you can make a claim with the engineering company they outsource their work to, you can't actually speak to them directly because they are closed until 5 January 2015!…
