Best Economy 10 tariff?
Hi there, I'm having trouble finding any info on Economy 10 rates on price comparison sites (Uswitch etc) - seems they all only cover Economy 7.
We are using E10 rather than E7 due to the fact that our house has electric underfloor heating (the 'storage' type installed in the concrete floors - so you need the daytime top-up).
Southern Electric are charging us 9.89p per unit off peak and 16.98p peak. Not sure about the standing charge, think it's 17p per day or so.
If anyone is aware of any better details among the relatively limited number of E10 suppliers I'd appreciate it. I will call around as well but just wanted to be sure I don't miss out on a better deal if we are to get the meter and supplier changed.

Not many suppliers offer E10 now and it's very difficult to compare and switch (as you've discovered).
The best thing would be to look at E7 tariffs and figure out whether you'd be better off. For example, with Scottish Power, my night rate is only 5.6p and the peak rate is 13p.0 -
https://www.energyhelpline.com/energy-guide/Economy-10.aspxE.ON, Southern Electric and EDF all offer economy 10 tariffs.
It seems that these three offer E10 tariffs. I'm not sure if others do though, you'll have to check.
As mentioned above, some suppliers may be able to offer you an E7 tariff, but you would need to confirm these details with them first, as not all can offer the E7 tariff for your metering type.0 -
Thanks guys, I'll try E.ON and EDF.0

I've just switched to E10 with OVO.0

Fairzo, can i ask do you have one meter installed? The reason I ask is my daughter is with OVO and we have been having a battle for 2 years over how Economy 10 works. In fact none of the OVO customer service team seem to know anything about them she has not been able to run her storage heater because the costs have been so high and we have just discovered that as there were TWO electrical supplies into the meter so she has been paying two standing charges for the supply. We are at present trying to get some compensation for this along with changing over to Economy 7.0
