Cavity wall insulation?
I live in a 3 bed semi built in the early 90's and I use about 12,000 kWh of gas per year for heating and have the opportunity to get cavity wall insulation installed for £90 from the Mark Group. I don't get any benefits even though I am a pensioner, too much savings left over from a pension lump sum when I retired. Is it…

Estimated Electricity bills - stitched up!
Hi all, wondered if you could help here. My partner had estimated bills from Scottish Power for over 2 years. She was paying around £35 per month by DD. When they finally did a meter reading, they presented her with a bill for over £2000, demanding payment within 30 days. As a single mother, she obviously couldn't pay it…

Credit Where It Is Due - EDF
No not that EDF but the other one - EDF Energy Customers plc. After a shaky start 3 years ago, this part of EDF has really got its act together. I provided them with my PV Solar FIT Meter Reading on Sunday (2 June) and at 5.30pm yesterday (3 June), I got an e-mailed BACS' notification. If only the rest of EDF worked as…

Economy 7
My flat has Economy 7 electricity. My water heater uses Economy 7 but also has a booster override. 2 years ago the Economy 7 stopped turning on, so the water and heaters could not heat up. My electricity company changed my electricity meter and it worked for a couple of years. Now it has happened again and I am back to…

Eon - Our Sales Compensation Fund
I have just received a letter from Eon basically telling me they may of mislead me at the time of switching and I have paid more than my previous supplier for Gas and Electric. To call an 0800 number and speak to someone. Done this and been offered £55 for not being made aware that my costs would be more expensive when…

Sainsburys Switch 4 months later....
Hi all, In November last year I switched from British Gas to EDF following the BG rip off of putting my monthly bill up to £106 pm for gas. Not long before I switched to EDF, I looked into Sainsbury’s Energy because they seemed cheaper and my mother-in-law had just switched to them. I went through the motions of the switch…

British Gas disputed meter readings
Hi I'm here for a little advise regarding british gas. I left them for Ovo energy at the start of January. I gave them my final meter readings and I received a check in the post for around £35. I gave them the meter readings 2 days after I officially switched to Ovo. I then received a bill out of no where demanding £25…

Advice with letter from Eon (tarrif is ending)
Hi, i am currently an Eon customer, when we first moved into our apartment out electric / gas bill per month was around £80, we phoned and had a moan at them and they put it down to £59, then shortly after sent a letter saying they were putting it back up to £80. Anyway, regardless of that, a year on and we have now had…

Help, gas boiler problem!
Hi, can anyone help? I have a worcester 28cdi gas combi boiler, and it won't switch off. My house is boiling hot, the water is scalding, it's almost midnight so no call centres are open. I have no idea if it's safe to go to bed or if it's dangerous and needs something doing straight away and if so, I have no idea who to…

Really disappointed with EDF
At the time I received the email confirming my tariff was going to expire, I did check the new tariffs to which in theory I should have been moved into. As a result of this the new tariff were more expensive, so I switched to a new provider. I now have received the final bill, and with regret the cost per pence / Kwh was…

Energy supplier
Please can someone tell me if they're having the same issue? On my online account with my energy supplier I saw I was in credit for £1695. I called and asked if I could have a refund has their site says any credit over £60 or more will be refunded. I was told not to take it all as I should keep my account in credit to stop…

ECO Eon Boiler Ignoring Us!
Hi, I applied for a free Eco boiler from eon in April. We had survey and we were told that the boiler should be installed by 15th May. The engineer came and said that we couldn't have the boiler fitted because the surveyor did not do his survey properly. He said that we needed additional work carried. We are meant to have…

efergy elite classic setup?
I've setup my efergy elite classic, however I'm concerned I've either got the clip on the wrong part of the meter or have setup the device value wrong. on average using 0.200kw and it's only costing £0.01 per hour. My tariff is an average rate of £0.1197 - however the device only goes to 2 decimals so have put it at £0.12…

British Gas boiler cover / Powermax boiler
Hi We have Home Care 100 cover with British Gas and we have a Powermax 140 boiler. Over the years British Gas have told me that no other plumber will touch this brand of boiler and that getting parts is either impossible or difficult. Mind you a quick Google search contradicts that and BG a few years ago almost completely…

nPower bill arrives.....
Foolishly I moved gas and electric from Scottish Power to nPower last year lured away by a comparison site telling me I should save money by doing so. We were paying Scottish around £130 per month until they put their prices up and wanted nearly £180 instead. So, off we went to nPower. All has been going fine. At the time…

Daligas - have I understood this right?
After signing up with them you provide your opening meter reading and the next time you provide them with a meter reading is after 12 months? So you could be overpaying or underpaying and end up with a nasty surprise after 12 months?? What kind of an idiot runs a gas company like this?

scottish power rep?
I left Scottish power 2-3 months ago but then started getting letters about outstanding debt, around £50 ish, I am pre payment so not sure were they got this debt from. I rang them and explained so they " adjusted " my estimated meter reading as I never gave them one as they didn't ask for one when I left them. 1 week…
