Energy supplier

Please can someone tell me if they're having the same issue?
On my online account with my energy supplier I saw I was in credit for £1695. I called and asked if I could have a refund has their site says any credit over £60 or more will be refunded.
I was told not to take it all as I should keep my account in credit to stop my DD going up, it's £117 per month.... go figure!!
After a couple of calls chasing the refund up, I was told because I had a bill of £944, my credit was reduced to £126??
I then call back from a manager who's told me with my recent readings I was now up to date and I was now in credit for £37.15!
Apparently a problem with their system which hasn't been accepting/registering online readings and my bills have been estimated since Feb'13, so because of this they'll give me £40 as a goodwill gesture after further discussion the goodwill gesture was increased to £60 but will only be refunded with my £37.15 credit after my DD has been taken this week.
So from a £1200 refund I'll be getting £97.15.
So £1695 - £944 = £751, according to my supplier it's anything from £126 to £37.15!

Has anybody got any suggestions or had the same experience?

Let me guess ........ NPower ? If so then this is quite normal as their shiny new computer system has not worked properly since they installed it. Work it out yourself and see what you come up with.
  • You're right it is Npower, I'm not letting this go. I refuse to let them get away with but thank you.

Your meter is in your home. You could have looked at the reading used on any of your statements and spent thirty seconds confirming that you were not £1700 in credit.

From your summary your monthly debit seems close enough (a touch low, if anything).

I'm not sure what your complaint is.

    nPower

I presume whoever is creating all the new user accounts in the MSE News thread on nPower, got bored with talking to themselves and decided to start a new thread with yet another new user name in an attempt to find some friends.

Stay clear - you can see how clingy they can get in their second post here.
