I left Scottish power 2-3 months ago but then started getting letters about outstanding debt, around £50 ish, I am pre payment so not sure were they got this debt from. I rang them and explained so they " adjusted " my estimated meter reading as I never gave them one as they didn't ask for one when I left them. 1 week later I get another final demand for now around £30 ish to which I then rang again and they said it has been frozen and passed to a back office team for investigation, and again 1 week later I now have a debt collection letter for the money i am suppose to owe you?

i was in credit when i swapped from Scottish power so they cant use the excuse i was in debt on my meters as they already tried that one when i rang.

oh ye - i was also called a liar and told that my figures have never been estimated and i given them a meter reading on X date , so i just hang up and rang them back to which a different customer service agent answered and said " ah ye i can see you didn't give a meter reading and it was estimated " .

how do i stop the monkeys sending letters , how do i contact the zookeeper and not the monkeys as they refused to pass me to any manager when i asked on all 4 times of calling.

YES - A letter headed Complaint is far better than phone conversations with staff on the Customer Service Desk

Within the industry the written word "Complaint" puts the supplier on notice by the terms of their Licence, that they must resolve the problem in 56 days - If they don't, you go to the Ombudsman
Also with that letter sent the supplier should cease all payment demands until the problem is resolved

Is this (56 days) also the case if the company claims not to have received a letter? I have been trying to make a complaint to Scottish Power. I was told to do this by email but both emails I sent Scottish Power claim not to have received, yet I got an automated reply from them saying they would respond in 5 days. They did not.

So I sent a letter headed complaint and sent recorded delivery. I can see that it was delivered. But once again they claim that it has not arrived. So is 56 days from the proof of delivery I have enough to raise it with the Omudsman?

Not calling them "retards" is probably a good start.

A letter once posted is 'Deemed' to have been recieved, and one with proof posting is even better.

If 56 days have elapsed since it was sent, you can now go directly to the Ombudsman
