Prepayment Meter in new house
Morning All, I've recently moved into a house which has a prepayment meter in for the electricity and a standard credit meter for the gas. As i'm used to the credit meter in my other previous properties I wanted a credit meter installed however the supplier said I wasn't allowed one in unless I paid £100s for the new one.…

Difficult to estimating winter gas bill now got woodburner
We've had a woodburning stove installed so it's impossible for me to estimate how much gas we might use this year. We're currently with nPower. I did a comparison before installing the woodburner and with the tariff we were on there was really no difference had we swapped back then. We'll now be using a lot less gas but…

Why Am I Using So Much?
Yes another one of these threads ;-) Just need to moan really! What with all the price increases going on (16% for me (based on usage) if I read the letter correctly) I thought I should maybe look into my usage. Probably somewhat more organised than most. I have a spreadsheet. I have Electric reads going back to 2003 and…

Hello, I am new to this forum and am needing some advice. I am wanting to see if there are any cheaper gas suppliers out there for our home. We are currently with Utility Warehouse and when ringing around yesterday I was told that because our annual consumption is very high (92,378 kWh), I would not be able to switch to…

Advice needed re switching and Warm Home Discount
I am currently with British Gas for both electricity and gas on their Online Saver 5 tariff which is valid until 30 April 2013. It is not a fixed price tariff but is 4% lower than their standard tariff. Given that BG are putting their prices up I took MSE's recommendation to shop around for a fixed price deal, the cheapest…

Message from eon about changing tesco clubcard points
Ive just received an email from EON telling me they have simplified their tariffs down to five options, and that these new tariffs come with new benefits to do with how you want your tesco clubcard points in future. I know better than to trust EON so am assuming its a con of some description, probably to do with getting…

Switching from a key meter to DD
How do I go about switching from a key meter to a DD? The comparison websites just assume I want to stay with a key meter when I want rid of it so throw up useless results.

Mse energy statement not 100% true?
i know that they do a great job but this is an extract from their latest newsletter. i have highlighted in bold the bottom statement is incorrect, those with scottish power on energy saver online 20, (note this IS NOT a fixed tarriff) are NOT effected by this latest increase, so i guess its kind of misleading and maybe…

Average usage?
Just had our latest quarterly electric bill and I'm wondering whether the readings seem high... It was a 93 day bill and 712 kWh were used. We have gas heating and hobs but the heating has been off most of the summer so that was only 278 kWh for the quarter, about £45. Any advice appreciated.

Two reasons why I stay with same supplier..please prove me wrong.
I'm currently with British Gas for both gas and electric and have received my letter about energy increases. The reason why I stop with British Gas is that I like the fact I can give monthly readings and pay for exactly what I use (do all energy suppliers provide this service)? Also, the other main reason is that I can't…

British Gas planning to move from standard tariff
I have read that people have called british gas stating they are thinking of leaving for big savings on their bills through other companies they get quotes from online. People have had british gas credit their accounts and was wondering how common this is. Has anyone done this and if so how much did british gas give them…

Energy prices.... consumers need to get a grip.
http://www.energy.eu/ I will admit to do work for one of the big six, but not in an energy dept. It bugs me everytime a price rise is announced as people who dont have a clue jump on the bandwagon accusing the companies of increasing their profits. Look at the above link and appreciate what a fine position this country is…
