Average usage?
Just had our latest quarterly electric bill and I'm wondering whether the readings seem high...
It was a 93 day bill and 712 kWh were used.
We have gas heating and hobs but the heating has been off most of the summer so that was only 278 kWh for the quarter, about £45.
Any advice appreciated.

normal electric usage is reasonably constant throughout the year peaking in the winter when your lights are on longer

considering Ofgem guidelines are 3300 kWh p.a. it would seem a reasonable figure for a quarterly bill.
my latest quarterly bill was for 1488 kWh but i am running 2 servers and large fishtank from my home. i am aware of the facts my energy usage will be higher than most0 -
This is for a two bed flat, we both work full-time.
I was just shocked that my neighbours are paying so much less when we are on the same tariff so thought I'd check. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Neighbours can vary reasonably significantly on electric consumption as there are plenty of electrical appliances with varying efficiency ratings, plus if you are paying by DD this can be affected by the amount of credit or debit the house is in. Eon is noted for there "Spring" time review, if they deem your credit too low at this time of year they will increase your DD to cover the heavier part of the year. they will also artificially lower your DD payments if you are in too much credit. have you spoken with your energy supplier recently they may be able to shed more light in relation to previous consumption history or offer you a better tariff
Why i always tell anyone checking comparison sites, or phoning other suppliers, never ever tell them your monthly spend always use your accurate consumption figures. That way the can only give the most accurate quote.
Far too many people are burned by giving low figures resulting in lower quotes :mad:0 -
No such thing as an average usage, we all use differently. While we may live in similar sized housing the usage is dependant on insulation, use and appliances.
I may be better/worse insulated around my house, my appliances may have a better/worse energy ratings, we all use different items, some leave on standby, some turn off when not in use.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0
