My Invisible NPower bill....
Hello All I am interested to see if anyone else has had this problem....I am on an on-line paper-free tariff with NPower. I am supposed to be e-mailed every 6 months with a link to my bill. My last bill was May 2011, and according to my account details on the website, I should have had a bill on 21.10.11. It hasn't…

Stopping my transfer
Mid way through a transfer from EDF to Scot Power. Final meter reading has not been taken. Can I stop the process, re-evaluate and possibly choose an alternative based on the latest price falls? I would hate to give these thieves any more of my money than I need to.

Can I switch to 2 different tariffs from my current supplier?
Can I switch my current dual fuel to different tariff for gas and different for electricity? When I check online it seems like that would be the cheapest. Say tariff A is more expensive for electricity but cheap for gas and tariff B completely opposite. I think I should be able to do it and still keep my dual fuel discount…

E.ON Customer Service
I just received this email from Customer Service at E.ON. Am I wrong to expect someone in this line of work to have a basic grasp of drafting a professional response. Wow...if this person worked for me there would be some real training issues to sort out. I am sorry i can not discuss this acct via e mail as the name on the…

Old electricity supplier saying we owe them money... but was prepayment meter!
Hi there. In the past few weeks we've switched from ScottishHydro to ScottishPower to supply our electricity after a comparison website advised us it would save us around £60 pa (which is almost a whole month's electricity expenditure!). We have a prepayment meter so the way the switch worked is they sent out a new key and…

New deals only offering variable DD??
Having done a few comparisons the savings are definitely there, but looking into the small print, most if not all companies now want you to pay for the energy you use on a month by month basis. Am I having what my wife calls a "man-look"? :( On a slightly different note, I started the switching process from Eon to…

Scottish power-will they increase my DD
Hi, I read my meter and enter the reading online weekly to SP but have noticed today that I am £80 in debit to them. I pay £88 a month by DD will they increase my payments or are customers allowed to have a higher debit. I don't want them to increase the payments as we are already in fuel poverty:(

Energy use monitors for flats?
Are there any energy use monitors that are made to work in flats? The ones I've seen you have to attach something to your meter and it transmits a signal to the display which you keep inside your home. My meter's in the building's basement and I'm on the top floor so these monitors don't transmit far enough for me!

What to do when your tariff doesn't appear on comparison sites?
I've been having a look at price comparison sites to see if I need to switch my electricity. I do this every now and then. My old tariff used to appear on the comparison sites, but it ended and it doesn't appear anymore. It was an old EDF online saver, this tariff used to appear with the correct day and night rates etc on…

British Gas Price cut and WebSaver 12
Hi, I'm on a dual fuel Gas WebSaver 12 tariff, I was wondering if I benefit from the cuts announced? It's a discount off the standard tariff, but I don't know if it's off the current tariff or off one which was set when WS12 was launched? I did ask on the BG Chat page, and they told me this: I am sorry to say that the…

Help with new fuse box
Hi I was wondering if anyone here could help me check the pricing of a replacement fuse box. To explain my fuse box looks to be very old (the flat was built in 95) and does not have a rcd or an rcbo but instead individual fuses that you would see in a plug (which keep blowing). A sparky came in and had a look and said in…

Responsibility of electric supply cables
Last night some ivy on the side of my house came down with the wind and as it came off it pulled the mains electrical supply cable to mine and my neighbour's house. As far as I am aware this hasn't affected the supply to any of the houses in the terrace but did uncover a very interesting use of electrical tape on some of…

I just bought a house the other day. I have the keys and I am planning on moving in in the next week. They offered me boiler cover, plumbing etc for an additional…

Do we want cheaper bills?
How about using people power or more to the point MSE power. If every member here agreed to switch to the same company, it don't really matter what one at this time. Yes, some may pay more in the short term but if enough people switched would it not make a more competitive situation and putting the customer in charge of…
