Really fed up with Eon
Are there any suppliers left who let you set your own dd level online like I used to be able to do? Eon have just cut my monthly payment yet again although there is only a very small credit balance and I am well aware that with the forthcoming price increases even the old level of payments will not be enough. It was about…

PLEASE HELP - who is my supplier?
Ok... Been living in a rented flat now for a year, and for the whole year we have not had one gas bill - lucky? Well, not quite.. as the constant fear of an annual gas bill is scary. We've just renewed our contract for the flat again, however we have asked the landload (for the 100th time) to find out who our supplier is.…

Working out usage.
Hi Moneysavers, Well, I now have one years worth of usage for my electricity & gas, and as nPower have upped the prices, it's time to shop around I think. The questions I need to answer are, the comparison sites ask for your annual consumption in kwh. The 'leccy readings are in kwh, is this correct ? And the gas readings…

npower sign online 20
I signed up to the npower sign online 20 tariff a few months back but I have now realised that I probably should have gone for a fixed rate instead. Does anybody know whether I can leave this at any time, or if there would be a charge? I can't seem to find this info anywhere on their website or any email that they sent me.…

How much do you pay each month??
Just out of interested what do people pay each month for their gas/electric? We are in a 3 bed semi and pay £40 direct debit on the gas, which we think we need to put up so covers winter, like it did last year, but British Gas keep trying to reduce it! electric I always top the meter up to £60 at the beginning of the…

Is it as easy as switching
I'm currently with Southern Electric and pay £70 a month direct debit. Expecting this to obviously increase this winter. Is it as simple to go onto uswitch and chose the cheapest company? I've only been living away from home for 18 months and I just kept on with south electric as they were already being used here. So I…

Pre payment gas meter from last tenant
I am about to move into a 2 bed flat on my own and have already spoken to British Gas who will require a £300 deposit to take the meter out. This is because I have been out of the country 2008-2010 so they say I have not got enough credit history. The electric supplier is npower. I am on pension credit and have DLA lower…

Question for plumbers/heating engineers
I've just had my boiler replaced... They used plastic for all the pipe-work, including the gas. I was under the impression plastic can be used for water only, and the gas supply pipe should be copper? Can anyone shed any light? Cheers...

Atlantic Price Protected Sept 2011 rebate -BEWARE!
I, like many, signed up to the Atlantic fixed Sept 2011 tarriff. In tyhe 13th month you are supposed to get a rebate. When I called to ask where it was I was told that due to the fact that in month 12 I made an extra payment by card, as my monthly payments were putting me behind, I was not entitled to the rebate. I was…

Standing charge tariffs
Hi, looking at different fixed rates at the moment. But its a bit confusing as the Standard Daily charge is sometimes cheaper than the Unit Rate. Whereas British Gas don't even have a standard daily charge but the unit rates are high. Whats the best deals to look out for against the daily unit rate or standing charge?

Short term fix or long term fix??
I am thinking about fix energy now. I know it's bit late, hopefully i find a better deal. Having checked comparison website, there are two top fix: 1. ScottishPower - Online Fixed Saver December 2012 2. EDF Energy - Fixed Price 2014 The first save me roughly 172 pounds and EDF save me about 116 pounds. Not sure which one…

New Gas Fire should save ££££££
I'm getting a new one fitted on September 1st. Basically this will mean that instead of using the CH to heat the whole house, i'll be using the new fire for the living room and the CH for the rest of the house (for less time). I've calculated on using about 30% less gas based on my typical usage profile in winter. I'll…
