Do you have you last 3/4/5 bills? If so check which readings are E(stimated) and which are A(ctual). It is possible that you have had bills on which both have been estimates for the last 2 years and the final bill is using an A(ctual) reading so it is catching up with your actual consumption.
The other things you should check are:
1) Do the final readings match the readings you submitted.
2) Have you checked you gas bill is based on the correct meter type (imperial or metric)? This may be difficult to answer unless myou have prevously done it or can still gain access to check it.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

first thing, did you tell them your forwarding address, second did you take a read and does it matchDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

hi thanks for replies i did give forwarding address and i am still a scottish power customer in my new address i did take the readings and they do match my bills for the last 5 yrs have been estimated but with me paying the large direct debit i just asumed i would be more than covered stupid of me i know i cant check meters as i have no access to old address a big reason for me moving to a smaller flat was my energy bills i am willing to pay the amount just to get rid of the headache of it all but i dont want a default slapped onto my credit file when i am paying the outstanding amount thanks xx0

What about a red letter first?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
