Is it as easy as switching

I'm currently with Southern Electric and pay £70 a month direct debit. Expecting this to obviously increase this winter.

Is it as simple to go onto uswitch and chose the cheapest company? I've only been living away from home for 18 months and I just kept on with south electric as they were already being used here. So I have no idea about extras.

If you have the actual usage figures rather than costs you will get a more accurate comparison. It is a very easy process which even if you don't switch it is worth comparing prices every year just to check,

Check http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/you-switch-gas-electricity before USwitch as there are some cash back deals available when you switch.

You are choosing to switch at a good time of the year with a full years bills and you should not get any huge surprises.

For the accurate results from the Switch sites, you have to enter your Annual use in Kwh - You should be able to glean this from the bills you have had, but if not phone SE and ask them.

Personally I always use "switchwithwhich" as by pressing the "Tariff" on each of the supplier and prices they list, up comes a page which lists all the fine detail of that suppliers tariff, right alongside the detail of your present suppliers tariff.
Then armed with these figures you can Switch via a cash-back site if you wish.

Yes, the process is very simple, as outlined above. Just use a comp site to find the best tariff, then use a cashback site to do the switch. It will then takes 4 to 5 weeks to complete.

You need you annual usage-not just your last quarter's billed usage.
And it must be actual usage, i.e. not based on estimated readings.
