npower sign online 20

I signed up to the npower sign online 20 tariff a few months back but I have now realised that I probably should have gone for a fixed rate instead.

Does anybody know whether I can leave this at any time, or if there would be a charge? I can't seem to find this info anywhere on their website or any email that they sent me. It looks as though the newer tariffs do charge if you leave before a certain date, and I wasn't sure if my tariff was the same.

Thanks in advance....

youre in luck, they are just putting their prices up from 1st october, and so are in process of sending letter out regarding the changes, you can move tariff free to another provider, or with them, as they have changed terms of their contract. there are time limits to do so though.

i signed up on same contract a while ago and got quidco, but i wont get my £100 duel fuel credit if i move, as its not due till april. i think ill be better staying at the higher price and get the £100, than move, as the price difference should even out or still work in my favour.

I did receive my letter yesterday actually and it did say it was tariff free, but I wasn't sure if it was a generic letter and therefore I would actually receive a charge. But thanks for confirming.

But now you have confused me about the dual fuel discount - does everybody get the discount at the same time or does it differ depending when you signed up? It's don't usually pay attention to when it comes, I just know that I get it! If I need to wait until April then I would be as well staying with my current tariff.
  • Unsure about the tariff Im afraid - Best to ring Npower and ask them directly. However I think the discount is based on 12 months DD payments, so if thats the case, then it would be applied 12 months after you joined?? Hope this helps!

Just got the letter for the price rise on sign online 20. Even after the hike, its still the cheapest tariff available to me currently. So probably best to stay put and switch when the tariff switched to the standard tariff on 31st December 2011.
