Take that British Gas! Just switched to E.ON to Fix Online8
British Gas really annoying us by sending a bill for £3.42 to a debt collection agency for an unpaid part of a final bill in a previous address. We moved and took British Gas with us, so they have always been aware of our current address (and we have paid about £800 in gas since we've been at the new address). They say we…

Energy Bills VAT January 2011
As standard Vat is being raised by 2.5 percent. Does this mean that, stealthily, the VAT on Utility Bills will now be 7.5 percent instead of 5 percent. If this is the case EVERBODY is now a loser!!!!!! Even for true blue supporters surely this is a kilowatt too far.!!

Crunch time- unregistered electricity meter, can you help?
I posted on here a while ago about my unregistered electricity problem. I received some very helpful replies and was able to work out what I think the problem was. I am renting a flat in a block of four flats and although there are four meters all with MPAN numbers, none are registered to the individual flats. Consequently…

I currently have two large storage heaters in my flat that do not look very nice and was thinking of changing them to thin, electric panel heaters as they look a lot nicer. Do electric panel heaters use a lot more electricity?

Large Gas Bill - Meter Not Read for 3 years
Just received my latest gas bill from Southern Electric for the period of 11 Mar 2010 to 10 Jun 2010, and it's rather hefty! According to them, I have used 819 units in this period, compared to 374 in during 29 Oct 2009 to 10 Mar 2010. All because the latest one was taken from a recent reading, while the others were…

Have an Energy Monitor? How much do you use?
Hi, We got a free energy monitor from our supplier earlier this year, and it's been very interesting seeing how much our usage fluctuates from day to day. We had a huge bill last year, and made a concerted effort to cut our usage prior to getting the monitor. We switch everything we can off at the mains at night, and…

Moneysupermarket Switch to Atlantic Cashback
Back in January I switched both my gas and electricity to Atlantic using Moneysupermarket. My recollection is that, at the time, Moneysupermarket were offering £30 cashback to switch both, and a month or so ago they did indeed pay me £30. This morning though, I notice they've paid me a further £30. I wonder if I'm…
