npower cashback query
Hi guys.
I switched to npower via quidco on March 14th. At the time quidco were doing £130 cashback for both utilities or £65 for each. I switched both over. Gas went live sometime mid April, electricity on April 19th. I'm still awaiting cashback. I have queried it through quidco but have been referred to their standard blurb which reads as follows:
"Cashback will only be paid for validated orders placed by new customers completely online after supply of your second or only fuel has gone live with npower...
...Transactions usually take around 6 weeks to validate but they MAY take up to 6 months to validate as it can sometimes take that long for an energy supplier to switch over. In these cases a transaction will track at "pending" until the actual energy switch has taken place. "
We are now into mid/late June and no sign of my cashback and I'm being told it may take upto 6 months. Has anyone else had issues claiming cashback from npower?
Thanks
Al

Yes, Npower are notorious for delays (and, indeed, non-payment). Read the cashback customer reviews (try on topcashback - not sure where they are on quidco) before deciding whether to switch. As they say from the outset, British Gas and npower are companies that delay for many months before paying.0

Thanks for the reply. The npower transaction was the first time I've used cashback. I since had £1.82 on a Dominos pizza rejected for some unknown reason.
Will check out the user feedback... don't think they have a section for it on quidco but will check topcashback.0 -
Hi al_hunter,
I'm sorry to hear you've had to wait a while to receive your cashback.
I've looked into this and it appears we did have a bit if a backlog but this is now cleared.
The normal process is that you'll get your cashback within 28 days of your gas and electricity accounts going 'live' with us.
I suggest you wait say, until next week - you should receive it by the end?
Any problems, post an update on the thread.
Best wishes,
Sally“Official Company Representative"

Hi,
Thanks for your response. In the event that I don't receive the cashback by the end of next week should I contact you? Quidco again? npower directly (and if so could you forward a number and advise what department I need to speak to).
Thanks

Hi al_hunter
It can take between six weeks and six months for the cash back to be paid out.
As it is Quidco who pay the cash back and not npower it is best to check with them.
If you have still not received the cash back this time next week, post an update on here and we can chase Quidco for you.

Already had my first bill and it's a lot lower than i thought it would be (they owe me £20 despite me never making a payment). I may stay with Npower till the winter and see what deals are around then.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I also signed up to Npower in March when they were offering cash back of £130 for taking up both Gas and Electricity. Now, I am with Npower and have been paying by monthly direct debit for last 2 months. Recently, I queried with Quidco regarding non-payment of the credit and I was informed that it could take up to 120 days. Exactly on 120th day, the claim was declined. I can not understand the reason. I have written to Quidco and waiting for their reply.0

Guys, just been reading this thread. The £130 sounded v good! I signed up with NPower dual fuel change on the football tarrif on the 23rd June (£80). I've used Qudico tons of times before and never had an issue with tracking. So far, NPower hasn't tracked - is this normal with NPower and tracking? As usually, with other vendors it shows up as tracking after an hour. I can't open up a Quidco support call for another month or so - but it does show on the site that I visited Qudico and clicked the link.
If anyone can tell me how quickly their transaction tracked, that would be great!!0 -
I switched in Jan, fuels went live with npower early Feb, I received my cash back mid june and Quidco has paid this out to me today.
It can take a while!0
