npower cashback query

• Thanks - but I mean the actual tracking stage in Quidco. Usually it comes back and reports almost immediately that it has tracked your transaction, with the amount. I realise the actual payment will take a while....

Be cool if Sally from NPower could reply!!

• thanks for the heads up! That's new as it wasn't on there this morning!

I can still cancel the contract....so I may sign up again and make sure the quidco tracks this time as I have a funny feeling Quidco won't honor it!! Is the Go2Save Tarrif any good???

Scottish Power have gone up to 140.50 on TCB, might be another option for you. Straight online energy SC/NSC Tariff has no exit penalties. :) ( That Tariff is reported to be pricey in Nth and competitive in South West)

Hi al_hunter

It can take between six weeks and six months for the cash back to be paid out.

As it is Quidco who pay the cash back and not npower it is best to check with them.

If you have still not received the cash back this time next week, post an update on here and we can chase Quidco for you.

Best,
Sally

Hi Sally,

I also took up the incentive to join nPower on a dual fuel offer with a £130 cashback via Quidco. The transaction has been tracking correctly since 4th March and I have been patiently waiting for payment - I was reassured by your comments above. To my horror, I have just logged into Quidco and I see that it's been declined! My dual fuel account is set up and I have clearly followed the process, so I am extremely angry. Can you shed any light onto this? I can direct message my account details to you if you're willing to help.

Regards,
Adam

UPDATE: Thanks to the efforts of the guys and girls at Quidco, I finally got my cashback from nPower. Was all a little painful and will make me think twice before making a decision based on the promise of cashback, but got my dosh in the end. Thanks Quidco.

I am in dispute with Quidco regarding a recent switch (11th May through Quidco) to NPower. Following 2 earnings enquiries being declined, I've been in discussion with Quidco customer service team. Now I've been informed that I have been declined as Npower/quidco are stating I'm an existing customer and that my switch is not genuine. My accounts were set up in June, first direct debit comes out next month but it is GENUINE as I've been with British Gas since April 2007 and EDF since April 2007. I'm fed up of having to explain myself and as this is my first experience with Quidco I'm not impressed. All I want is the £80 , I'm fairly and genuinely owed. I feel that I'm having defend myself against teh great word of Npower who are claiming I was an existing customer and quidco have said perhaps you have just changed your tariff? excuse me, I do know my customer status and know where I've been paying my bills for the last three years and it's not to Npower. I have explained in endless messages that I applied through the quidco website on the 11th May. I have an e-mail from Npower welcoming me as a new customer on the 11th May. I am fed-up and NOT impressed with my first experience with quidco. this has truly put me off and i will be moving from Npower at the earliest penalty-free opportunity. What happened to listening to the customer and taking the evidence the customer provides at face value. Cough up Npower :mad::mad:

This sort of problem seems to be cropping up a great deal especially or so it seems with Npower. I notice that Npower’s site rep, Sally, seems in no rush to respond to your post, despite your clear annoyance and frustration.

I’d ask Quidco to confirm (in writing) that Npower definitely told Quidco that you were an existing Npower customer and that this is the only reason why you have not received your £80.00 from Quidco.

I’d also ask Quidco to confirm that if Npower changes its statement and agrees to pay (and does pay) Quidco in full, that Quidco will in turn pay you your £80.00.

I’d then email Npower’s customer complaints (the email address I’ve got is ComplaintsTeam@Npower.com), explaining the nature of your complaint and ask them to write to Quidco within the next 14 days to correct their untrue statement previously given by Npower to Quidco.

I’d also point out to Npower that it owed you a duty of care to make sure that any statement it made to Quidco about you was correct, and that since it got its facts wrong it is liable to you for the £80 that you otherwise would have received from Quidco, and that Npower must either pay you £80 or clear up things with Quidco within the next 14 days or you’ll commence an action against Npower for negligent misstatement in the County Court, which will also include for your time, fees and inconvenience.

Judging from the line of angry symbols at the foot of your post, I assume you might find the above course of action attractive. If you do, then please come back if there are any problems and I think everyone would love to know how you get on with both Npower and Quidco.

I switched to Npower early in July through Quidco when I moved into my new place, it's there as tracked in my account and there it has stayed. My supply moved over to them over a month ago now. I have been patiently waiting but doing a bit of research it seems a lot of people have great difficulty getting their cashback out of Npower.

I have this evening sent an email enquiry through Quidco as it's past 7 weeks and I can't raise a query through their system.

I have a friend who moved a couple of weeks ago, switched through Quidco to Scottish Power I think it was and she's already had her cashback paid out! This makes me even more annoyed at having to wait so long.
