EnergySmart - Energy Monitor
Hi all, I'm having trouble setting up my energy monitor. I'm nearly all set up but I need to input my tarrif. Found that information I'm on Tier 1 20.656 and Tier 2 10.964 and now it wants me to input what time Tier 2 starts. I've no idea, the British Gas website offer no information. Is there any body on the same tarrif…

Why did I bother?
I hope this might be useful to some of you, here's how I reduced my monthly electricity bill by £95. For the last ten years I have been paying through the teeth for electricity, my monthly direct debit was £160 and I knew I had to do something, various suggestions have been made as to why our usage was so high, after all…

Cost / elec usage of 50inch plasma tv
Just wondering if anyone can tell me how a 50 inch plasma affected their electricity bills / usage. How much of an increase in £s can one expect if going from a CRT 28inch to 50inch plasma (average use of about 5 -6 hours a day). I'm sure I read somewhere that they are more energy efficient. Thanks .

Eon Fix online v6 discount
Eon Fix Online tariff shows up as the cheapest supplier for me on a few comparison websites. I am a bit concerned about switching to Eon because on their website it states that the discount is not payable on final bills. I assume this means that if I left Eon I would not get the 25% discount on my bill. This could mean…

EON five year fix
To the EON rep, Ofgem warned us about the 25% hike in energy prices over the next five years, so there are people primed and eager to fix for five years. What are you waiting for? Do you want British Gas to come up with a five year fix first? The exit penalty on a five year fix will be humongous, so British Gas will have…

So glad to be leaving B.G
Finally got my final bill from B.G as have defected to EDF. Why did I think it would be simple? Our billing period started on 21st Dec, we were on an E7 meter using NS heaters. Changed heating system and on 5th Jan gave meter readings and asked to be put on a single tariff. Got bill today and lo and behold, they had no…

Why am I paying for Homecare?
Apparently our boiler pipes need cleaning and the engineer from BGAS said it would cost 500-800 quid which seems a lot but I would have expected this to be covered from my Homecare policy. Anyone know why it would not be? Thanks MD

switching suppliers
I decided to switch from Npower to OVO last November through a switch site (not Uswitch). I was contacted by Npower and offered a better deal and they said they would deal with OVO for me. OVO then said I had to pay £60 to get out so I had no choice but to stay. As soon as this contract is up I intend to move away from OVO…

Change Utility Supplier + Already Saved ?
Been with paying EBICO gas/electric rate in a SWALEC area for the last 4 years. Like everyone else my bills are going up, but I found it hard to justify paying for what I was using. So again for the fifth time I change my suppliers. I left EBICO and gone with First Utility. First Utility, you supply metre readings via…

Recommend an appliance energy monitor ??
Hi folks. Can i have some recommendations for an energy monitor. Its for a couple of freezers i have. I only really need for this so not looking for anything flash just something that will confirm their kw/h useage. Not looking to spend loads so something cheap & cheerful would be ideal (so long as works).
