Switched from BG to EDF with an IVA?
I am with BG at the moment and from doing various comparisons, I would save about £40 a month with EDF, so decided to switch. I was convinced I would be declined by them on the credit check, but no credit check was mentioned at all, and I have called to check and they can see the DD details set up etc etc so all is in…

Don't want 0800, do need regional.
Can anyone provide me with a regional telephone number for Southern Electric & British Gas please. Both these providers now give 0800 numbers but when you move into a house with no landline and need to use a mobile, 0800 numbers are chargable, whereas regional numbers are included in your free allowance minutes.

U-Switch figures are incorrect - confirmed by BG
Well, I was off to switch my electricity from E-on to British Gas. Luckily I telephoned them to confirm the figures that U-Switch (and other comparison sites) gave me. Very glad I did because the figures U-Switch gave me are wrong. British Gas have confirmed this. Based upon my postcode, U-Switch says I am in London (which…

Radiator panels?
Hi everyone, I have ordered a pack of 6 radiater panels from Scotish Power. To put behind the radiators in our home to help save energy, reduce heating bills and keep warm. The panels willl reduce the heat absorbed into the walls and reflect the heat back into the rooms. Now! I am begining to wonder if I have done the…

Loyalty Discount
I have been with EON for years, what about some loyalty discount? It must be fairly easy to program. They should have a joining date for customers on the customer record. So, on the bill, you would have discounts for: Dual Fuel, Direct Debit, Online and now Loyalty discount. It should work like the car insurance No Claims…

Hidden Stealth Tax on Domestic Energy
A friend asked me to look at their Scotish Power dual fuel account. It gives a breakdown of the % of costs that make up the total cost. It shows 9% (of which it states 5% is VAT) as Government charges. As there is no climate levy charge on Domestic tariffs, I assume the 4% is for the financing of Social Tariffs. Can anyone…

British Gas and Experian...
I have been told that British Gas are now reporting account performance to CRA Experian. I do not know if this is true or not. I have sent off for my £2 file to find out. Can anyone confirm if this is true and what they think about it? Personally I do not think this is right. Utilities may well be viewed as a line of…

Changing tariff with E.ON - with IGT
Having recieved a letter stating the E.ON fixed rate was due to end and the family member would be put on a new fixed rate unless they requested a change I checked MSE. I then looked at the comparison sites and E.ON's website, which merely said 'phone us', i.e. no tariffs listed. We were only looking to review the Gas…

Rip off NPower!!!
Does anybody else disagree with NPower's seasonally adjusted charging? Basically the 4572 kWH are not spread evenly over the year so we are all charged more for using gas in the winter months. On our final bill with them we have used 141 cubic metres in 50 days, which is probably a slightly less than average amount. For…
