Why am I paying for Homecare?

Apparently our boiler pipes need cleaning and the engineer from BGAS said it would cost 500-800 quid which seems a lot but I would have expected this to be covered from my Homecare policy.
Anyone know why it would not be?
Thanks

The requirement to 'powerflush' seems to be BG's latest 'get out of jail' card when a CH system is a few years old.
Can't or don't want to repair your CH system? - "requires a 'powerflush Sir!!"0 -
gets worse on the phone with them now and the lady suggested I downgrade or cancel my policy since they are unlikely to have parts for my boiler, thing is they had an engineer over to do the inspection and he never explicitly mentioned this.!
Anyone recommend a company that can service north london area?0 -

Put simply, BG run an insurance scheme on CH systems called Homecare!
Again, put simply, you are now a bad risk(as all of us are with old systems) and they don't want to cover your system.
I have no difficulty with that as a business model, after all that is what all insurance firms do; get rid of 'high risk' clients where possible.
I do have an objection with the disingenuous way they go about getting rid of clients, or pressurising them into replacing a boiler working perfectly well - preferably fitted by BG at an inflated price.0
