scottish power
i have moved away from scottish power twice in 6 months. on both occaisions they arbitrarily set our direct debit miles above our usage. i meticulously worked out our monthly usage, it came to around £40. despite repeated emails and phone calls, they completely ignored us and increased the payment to £70. as i say, this is…

EON FixOnline Version 3 or R1 ?
I'm quite tempted by Fixonline, yes wholesale may drop slightly but will EON really pass on that much to us ? The new R1 I think is seriously pricey. Our current bill for gas/electric is about £110-£140 pm depending on the season, with a 1% reduction in discount already plus the 5.8% premium it's looking kinda pricey. With…

EDF pre-payment meter: expensive?
Hello MSEers, I've seen a fair bit about Electricity costs on these forums but I don't think they specifically answer what I'm looking for. I recently moved into a flat that seems to be having account issues with EDF...bill is about 650 quid, which fair enough, isn't really my problem.... but after having all these issues…

Optimum Ideal Concord WRS 240B
Hello, I've being scouring the internet for some settings for the 'boiler thermostat' I've copied this link from the same boiler model but instead of 240B it's 255A so very similar or close at least. The text is below: >Anyway, as the manufacturer refuses to provide >a manual for the safe operation of the boiler >they…

n-power chasing for money 12 months on
Is there anybody who could shine some light on where I might stand with this bill that I received. I left n-power over 12 months ago and now have received a final payment bill saying that I owe £97.70 estimated on what I used, Can they still try and claim this money after such a long period of time.

E-on Save on line
Anyone tell me what the difference besides the obvious is on the Eon Save online with standing charge and Save on line without. My capped price protection ends next month and i am thinking of moving to one of these.

EDF energy not tracked yet - has yours?
Hi I signed up for EDF via Quidco last Sunday and the transaction still has not yet appeared on my account. You have to wait 28 days (the usual is 14) before you can log a query. I cleared all my cookies before signing up via Quidco. I just wondered if I am worrying too early, or wether other people have had the same…

Slow cooker running costs for those still thinking of buying one
I have just been working out how much my new additional (already have a large one, just bought a small size) slow cooker will cost to run. If anyone is still thinking whether they should buy one or not, mine will cost me just less than 7p to leave it cooking for 8 hours. It is 120w so times by hours on and divide by 1000…

How to work out how much something costs to run
I can't find the details we had with our electric bill but I am trying to work out how much it costs to run my slow cooker. If it is 120w and my tariff is 6.816p a kwh, does that work out at 6.816p if I have it on for 8 hours? 120 x 8 div by 1000 = 0.96 kwh so just under 7p ?

Eon Plans

At first i was keen to swap to another supplier, but on reflection i don't think i want the hassle i had when switching from EDF to Eon a few years back,it took months to sort out…

Can anyone point me in the right direction, I've just bought an OWL system and I'm trying to programme it, and I think I need to put the different tariffs on for peak and normal? I've got the rates from the website but unsure when they take effect, any ideas? Thanks

What to do when British Gas refuses to let me leave?
I have been with another gas/electricity supplier as a prepayment meter customer. Two days ago, thinking that British Gas might be cheaper, I called them. The salesman on the phone said they would send me an info pack. Today, reading this pack, I realize that BG is much more expensive, so I called them to cancel. At first,…

E.on online account problem - possible ID theft
I've had a phone call from E.on saying that as I tried to log into my online account recently, they have to inform me that due to a technical problem at their end, other customers may have been able to see my account. This may include my name & address, last bill and last payment details, but should not include bank info…

Used less than £14 gas since June, this low?
Hi, just had a gas bill and we have used less than £14 in over 3 months, would anyone say this is high? We have had the hot water on 2 or 3 times a week for an hour and we did have the heating on for an hour or 2 over the last few weeks on the days when the wind and the rain meant it got a wee bit nippy, also have a gas…

Does anyone have any idea of the average running cost of a flame effect open fire? I have just moved house from one that had a flame effect fire, and now have an open fire which I intend to run on any wood I can lay my hands on. However a chimney needs sweeping, I am told once a year, and that costs £50., Does this £50 a…
