E.on online account problem - possible ID theft
I've had a phone call from E.on saying that as I tried to log into my online account recently, they have to inform me that due to a technical problem at their end, other customers may have been able to see my account. This may include my name & address, last bill and last payment details, but should not include bank info  They are apparently investigating.
They encourage you to go paperless and manage your account online. If they can't keep my details safe I will be going elsewhere. If my ID is now stolen due to this problem can I take action against E.on for not protecting my details appropriately?
