Atlantic E + G - '13th month rebate - any point in switching?
I've been on dual fual with Atlantic since switching to them from BG over 4 years ago. I've found their customer service to be top notch and felt that their tariffs were pretty close to the cheapest. Martin is now suggesting it's time to switch and I'm pondering. The '13th month rebate' is a problem for me. I'm never sure…

Confused by dramatic DD increases by Scottish Power
I've signed up here as yet another person who is struggling to pay their hiked energy bills and understand where their new figures have come from. Up till August 2008 we were paying £80.50 per month for dual fuel on the premier plus package. Then in September we were informed it was increasing to £111.50 (38% increase).…

EON trying to shaft me?
I have recently changed electricity supliers from EON to EDF energy. I received a phone call yesterday from EON saying I owed them £183.00. The reason I feel I'm being shafted is I pay for my electricity using a pre payment key metre. So if I don't pay, I don't have electric. Around 2 years ago EON changed my metre, (I…

EDF offices raided in price-fixing fears
I spotted this article in the Times today. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/utilities/article5887695.ece?Submitted=true Do you think maybe OFGEM was wrong when it did not find any evidence of price fixing among the major energy companies in 2008?

Changing electricity meters - high/low?
Hi I've got to have my meter replaced soon, and am wondering; 1. Why they need to do this, and 2. whether to keep with having 2 dials (high/low), or just go for one at a flat rate. I'm a very low user of electricity, and don't use much nighttime electricity - do you generally get a cheaper standard rate with a single dial?

Eon Direct Debit Confusion
I have been on Eon's Capped rate dual fuel product since 1st January 2008 and this runs until 1st October 2009. The reason I chose this product is because of the pricing stability and because it meant that my monthly DD payment would remain fairly stable throughout the term of the contract. I pay £103/month for gas and…

ScottishPower ripping me off?
Hi everyone, Now, I know I've been extremely stupid and I say that as a caveat. My two flatmates and I moved into an apartment in Liverpool last July and didn't register with the electricity company. 8 months later, yesterday, we received a bill for £1655.79! They obviously don't have an accurate reading of what the bill…
