I am still on Click Energy 6. Should I switch to Websaver 2.
I am assuming that BG is still the cheapest.

Welcome to the forums. NEVER assume anything, especially where BG are involved. Won't be long until Websaver2 trundles along, I suppose. Get your annual usage (not the monthly DD payments but exactly how much your annual usage is in kwhs, which your existing supplier are legally obliged to tell you) and get on the switching sites. But be careful, some of the decreases (pathetic that they are) don't come in until 31/3 whereas BGs came in on 19/2 so the figures may be skewed towards Bg at the moment. HTH.Call me Carmine....

The only way to be sure is to check the unit prices for each tarrif for your area yourself on the BG website.
Incidentally, Click6 and WebSaver1 are no longer available to new customers at BG. I changed from Click6 to WebSaver1 a month or so ago because the rates were cheaper. I noticed WebSaver2 was out the other day and spoke to BG about it. They told me that WebSaver1 is a tracker rate, 10% cheaper than standard rates. Websaver2 is also a tracker but is 6% cheaper than standard rates.
My understanding is.....BG launched WebSaver1 when they were unsure of what the reduction is gas costs would be. They offered customers WebSaver1 (10% cheaper than standard) and then found out their gas price was not as cheap as they thought it would be. So they stopped WebSaver1 and offered WebSaver2 (6% cheaper than standard). Therefore anyone who took up the WebSaver1 tarrif is getting the best price and should not move to WebSaver2.
I also went on to U-Switch yesterday, stuck in my annual kwh consumption and all other relevant details and no other gas/elec supplier in the country is cheaper than WebSaver1. The next cheapest tarrif was WebSaver2 by BG!!
So the moral of the story is as far as I can see over the last few years is......
1. BG are always the cheapest for gas and electric when gauged over a long period (i.e. a year).
2. BG are cunning in that they regularly launch new tariffs and dont tell anyone.
3. If you keep tabs on their website regularly (perhaps monthly??) then you can take advantage of any new tarrifs they lauch....but beware, whilst the new tarrifs are often the cheapest they offer, they arent always!!!!0 -
As mentioned before check what your annual usage would cost when comparing both tariffs by post code. When I checked mine I discovered that remaining on Click energy 6 is £50 cheaper annually as compared to websver 2. This is probably because although gas prices are cheaper on web saver 2, electricity prices are much more expensive. Obviously I haven't switched. HTH.

I've had to re-register because of some kind of glitch but helpful answers, thanks.
I've emailed BG for my annual usage. bet that doesn't go smoothly.
Now not expecting big difference between CE6 and WS2.
One point, though. I never went onto Websaver 1 because it locks you for twelve months on pain of an exit fee. Or did i read it wrong?0 -

I take it back! They sent me my KWH annual usage within 2 days.
I ran it through Uswitch and CE6 is cheaper for us than anything else, including WS2.
I would love to switch but while they're the cheapest I'll have to stick in there.
Not forgetting of course that there's no exit fee on CE6.
On the bright side I managed to dump BT years ago.0 -
As websaver 2 gas is cheaper than click 6 gas, but websaver 2 electricity is more expensive than click 6, couldn't I switch the gas only from C6 to WS2, keep electricity on C6 & still receive a duel fuel discount?Next year we'll be millionaires!0
