my electric has gone up 500%
I have been with my provider since 10/04.I have been paying as little as 31 pounds. That increased to 64 which i believed with the situation at the moment this was not so bad and would not break the bank. I was sent a letter on 04/07 saying my payments were being increased to 293 pounds a month from the 28/07. I am a single…

I watched the Tonight programme, I am usually very adept at 'money saving' and am always doing my best to get the cheapest/best value whatever etc etc, but for some reason I have just left my gas and electricity with the companies that supplied my house when it was built in 2005. Just dug my bills out - electricity with…

We are an economy 7 user and have yet haven't had a winter in the house. My question is, would it be worth moving to a capped tarriff like ML keeps banging on about?…

URGENT - Scottish & Southern Fixed Deal is NOT Fixed
Hi All, The Scottish & Southern group have just released a new tariff called Fixed Discount 2010. Please be aware that this is not a fixed price tariff. It is only the discount that is fixed. The tariff is 2% cheaper than their Standard rates and it is this 2% that is fixed. Therefore if the Standard rates go up then so…

Why are energy companies not helping us to help them ? I'm more interested in electricity, so heating water is of lesser importance, although I'd like to, I have approached my new boiler company to ask if they would consider my house as a show house, answer was No. I've always switched off. What's the cheapest way to heat my water?? Help?
In light of recent the recent heating charges hikes, I have been considering how I heat my water. I have a gas boiler and tend to leave it on permanently. Has anyone any ideas about whether it is cheaper to do this or set it to heat just twice a day. Any ideas gratefully recieved. thanks!!

unbiased energy comparisons
I was recently informed by a friend that some of the energy comparison sites are not totally unbiased, being associated with particular suppliers and hence not necessarily the most accurate information to base any switching decisions on. Is there any comparison site which is truely unbiased?
