I'm with Scottish Power for Gas & Elec and am looking to make the most of their products. Looking at my options I can select Standing Charge or No Standing charge but am unsure as to what is the best option. This is what the site says:
Standing Charge or No Standing Charge – it’s your choice
Some gas and electricity suppliers insist on you paying standing charges. ScottishPower can free you from them.
Our No Standing Charge* (NSC) option lets you take your energy supply on the following basis:
Electricity Standard single rate meters
No daily service charge is applied to your energy charges. Instead, you’ll pay a higher rate for the first 225kWh used each quarter, then a lower rate for any other energy you use.
Electricity Multiple rate meters e.g. White Meter, Economy 7 etc
No daily service charge is applied to your energy charges. Instead, you’ll pay a higher rate for the first 225kWh used during the day each quarter, then lower rates for any other energy you use during the day. A separate unit rate will apply to the units you use at night.
Gas
No daily service charge is applied to your energy charges. Instead, you’ll pay a higher rate for the first 1143kWh used each quarter, then a lower rate for any other energy you use.
So what is the best option?
