Need to change but head spinning with info!!
I am with E-on at the moment and am sure I can get my gas and electricity cheaper but I dont feel the comparison sites give me enough information - they say I can save £x but don't actually give me their costs!! Also, some bloke for Southern Electricity caught me in my front garden the other day and tried to tell me they…

British Gas -> e.on, but which one? Should I consider npower?
Hi there Just put my details into energyhelpline.com with current monthly consumption of £30 Gas and £28 electricity and it gives me 2 e.on capped deals which will cost me £4 a year but will cap prices until 1st Oct 2009. My first question: is this capping period long enough? There is an npower capped deal that will cost…

N-Power non agreed rates
Hi there, I recently moved into a new house. Before we bought it, the house had been rented out, and as a result had quite a few debts attached to it from previous tennants. One of which was approx £1.5k owed to N-Power. Having had the misfortune of having to deal with them for my work, i was adamant i wouldn't let them…

Scottish Power Price Capped 2011
:mad:According to sales they have cancelled this account:mad::mad:. I am on the PriceFall option which runs until end Oct. Sales states that they don't know what will be on offer in Oct. It looks like I am screwed and it will cost me a lot more than I was expecting:confused: .

possibly stupid question re electric supplier - first flat
I am moving into my first flat this Friday. I've never had electricity in my own name, all the shared houses I've lived in have had the bill in someone else's name. I'm assuming because of this I can't use a 'uswitch' type service to get the cheapest utility service. The property managers won't tell me who the electricity…

Our gas provider has just written to us to tell us that due to a billing error on their part they have been under charging us for the past 18 months and now ofcourse want to reclaim the amount under charged. Is this legal? Do we have to pay it? Our right to move our business to a different provider due to charges higher…

Something has just this minute dawned on me ...... Earlier today an nPower meter reader came to the door. He had an ID card on and was carrying his meter reading gadget. Scottish Power - VERY Angry!!!
What on earth are these people doing? This is so very nearly the straw that broke the camel's back etc..... They have never really got it right with my bills... Goes up, goes down, goes up, goes down... I live in a modest two bedroomed property and my gas/elec has varied from £44 to £88. The last time they hiked it up, a…

Scottish Power - angry!
Back in early march, I switched gas+elec suppliers from scottish power to EDF energy. The supply switched, and the gas has been activated. They are disputing the elec reading still 2 months on. I don't see why they they are disputing, they obviously accepted my reading because they sent me a final bill. I gave this same…

British gas debt collectors
Hi, I hope someone can give me some advice please. In Dec 2005 I moved house and as I always paid my gas monthly with a payment card at the PO, I was £50 in credit when I left, which British gas sent me a cheque for. Then sometime last year we got a letter from Westcot debt collecters working on behalf of BG saying we…

New Quote - acceptable?!
Hi guys, I'm new here but have often browsed for advice - thank you! We had a large Gas company rep come out today to do a quote for a replacement of the baxi back boiler to a Worcester Greenstar 28i. The quote was £3905.23. I was horrified. Is it really justifyable? They said we need a powerflush. And they'll fit a…
