retrospective mistake re billing by provider
Our gas provider has just written to us to tell us that due to a billing error on their part they have been under charging us for the past 18 months and now ofcourse want to reclaim the amount under charged. Is this legal? Do we have to pay it?
Our right to move our business to a different provider due to charges higher than we would have liked has been denied us.
And doesn't it go to show how shambolic or devious are the utilities companies.

A lot depends on how they were under charging you.
Were there estimated bills?
Was the pence per kWh wrong?0
