Union Energy

I am a member of the CWU (communication workers union) they offer cheaper energy through Union Energy, does anyone have experience of this supplier? are there/ what are the benefits of switching to them?
Any feedback greatly appreciated, cheers.

I think this is ScottishPower under a different name.
Whenever I've seen them on a comparison site they were the same price as SP - what extra benefits would you get?

I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!
  • Not sure if there are any extra benefits, guess that i will have to investigate further (was so much simpler when the gas people sold gas, the electric people sold electricity and the phone company had you on your knee's begging for the privelige of a connection, .... happy days) Not sure who to go with, have never changed, but there is just too much choice out there.

If you've never changed you've probably got the most to save - sometimes without changing supplier.
Look at online or fixed plans, use the comparison sites at he top of the page and see what deal/company comes out best for you.
Make a note of your readings regulalrly, especially around the time you switch.

Fixed plans are a bit of a gamble, but with the market the way it is, so is not fixing.

You may find there are unemployment benefits etc with the UnionEnergy deal but the unit rates may reflect this. Worth investigating more but depends on your circumstances/usage/location.
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

Yes, it's Scottish Power - who I am currently with. I just rang SP as I am also a CWU member - no difference in price whatsoever. So much for being a benefit!!!!!

It is probably a benefit for your union, as they will earn commission for customers they sign up...
