This is a wind up isn't it?

    In case it isn't!

Get a nice 8 watt energy saving bulb and you can run it for 21 minutes for the same cost as a single match you use to light the candle!

Why would that be a wind up?

At a guess, just cos it really doesn't seem like using candles would be cheaper these days and would probably harm your eyes unless you used hundreds of the things.

MMMMmmm I dunno, i think candle look very cosy, mind you, dont really need much light this time of year, i dont tend to put lights on anyway, only the tv!

Only thing puts me off candle is the fire risk, i worry too much!

Because the OP said using candles was to save money.

An 8 Watt energy saver bulb(the equiv of a 'normal' 60 Watt bulb) will run for over 12 hours for 1 pence.

Don't forget to put the candle in front of the mirror, then you get twice the light for the one candle!

How much do you pay for your electricity?

At 10 pence for a kWh an 11W CFL will run for 909 hours for £1
