First post for me so Hi everyone! I have a problem regarding a couple of gas bills I received this week, they are from EDF and are for a property I lived in from Dec 2005 to Aug 2006. When I moved into the property I asked PowerGen to take over both gas and electric supplies. I assumed it all went ahead OK but when I moved…

EDF - no price reductions planned
I just got off the phone to EDF to give them a chance to keep my business and was told that at present they have no plans to reduce their prices for either gas or electricity. I pointed out that all the other big firms have done so over the last couple of months, and that EDF's rates were looking overly high in comparison.…

Powergen Online Saver ….. confused !
Powergen Online Saver ….. confused ! I have tried to stay ontop of the Powergen Online Tariffs, and swopped as new ones became available. Just about to switch to Npower, but is it worth it?
Hi, Having used one of the comparison sites (simply switch) I saw that I could make a saving of approx £125 pa by switching from SSE to Npower. This was on an overall usage of £960pa for both gas and electric. I now get the "welcome" letter from Npower which tells me that "you may be able to make a combined annual saving…

npower - dodgy charging methodology?

Is it always cool to freeze?
Hi, I'm keen on the idea of running a large upright freezer in order to store bulk-bought food and pre-prepared meals. I would not buy a new freezer but find an unwanted secondhand one. My question is this; How much does it cost to run this type of freezer? Could it be that it may not be cost effective due to the increased…

Pre-Payment Final Bill from BG
I have been getting my electric from British Gas, This is my dilemma... I have recently changed from a prepayment meter to a normal one. In August last year I was apparently £124.49 in debit because they hadn't changed my tariff, so when they put the new key token meter in, they added this as a debt to my meter and so £5…

B/Gas-anyway out of it?
I moved into my property on 21/10/06 and took a gas meter reading, then Npower transferred me over to them on the 29/11/06. British Gas are saying that I owe them £119 for a months gas supply! I've phoned, emailed (after numerous mistakes on their part) and I've now written and complained but they're like a broken record,…

Selling electricity back to the grid?
I've heard that it is possible to have solar power or wind turbines or similar and of at any time you are generating more electricity than you are using, you can sell it back and make money with it? I'm guessing that this is not going to be very frequent on a 3-bed end-terraced estate house, but anyone know anything more?
