Powergen Online Saver ….. confused !
I have tried to stay ontop of the Powergen Online Tariffs, and swopped as new ones became available.
Started with Online (11% discount), then took Winter Saver (16%), then took Extra Saver (23.1%).
BUT, resisted the temptation to swop to Extra Saver Version 2 (18%) until it was clear what the tariffs were going to be for Version 1 after April 30th.
New tariff has arrived by snail mail, and it appears that the V1 tariff is identical to V2.
So, unless someone can make more sense of this, it appears that staying with V1 gives me 23.1% discount, and V2 would give me 18% discount.
BUT, when I go to price comparison sites, they still tell me that there is a small saving (£25) to be made by swapping to V2 ?????
Phoned Powergen, they say the same saving could be made, but they cant explain how, as they confirm the 23.1% discount, and on the same tariffs. ???
Anyone got any ideas ?
Until proven different, think I will stay put on V1 seeing “saving” is small.
Does anyone know if all tariffs can be viewed online anywhere, cant see them on Powergen website.
Thanks for any advise .....

I had an unexpectedly large winter bill from Powergen with the online saver. I swopped to the extra saver and asked them for a chart showing their prices. I still haven't received it.0

I was with Powergen online and was really happy. Energyhelpline.com told me about extrasaver 2 saying it would save me £39 a month. It gives the details of costs broken down. I've just switched. Energyhelpline doesn't mention extrasaver1 in my best deals.0

ExtraSaver Version 1 is no longer available, in fact if I remember right, it was only available for about 10 days before being replaced with V2.
I think what is happening, is that the comparison sites are using the new tariff for V2 (post April 30th) , but the old tariffs (pre april 30th) for all the others versions.
If anyone else has V1, I think it would be worth holding back for 2 weeks until April 30th, before you switch, and then trying the comparison sites again.
Would still like to see all tariffs though if anyone has a link .. ??Bad Spellers of the world untie0 -
Chester_Draws - what are the unit prices on the letter you've received? Also does it say anywhere on the letter you are on version 1? Its not unknown for the wrong letters to be sent.0

I am a customer with powergen, also the Extra online saver package, called them this morning to think about switching suppliers. They informed me of the v2and informed me the savings will work out at £53 per year...

Chester_Draws - If you're definitely on version 1 then your prices will not decrease on 30 April.0

I phoned them again today,(Tues) to try to get clarification on this.
They confirmed the following prices will be effective for me as on 30/04, on Version 1:
Elect. 16.32 then 9.36
Gas 3.235 then 2.574
Discount of 23.1% on Gas, and discount of 20.6% on Electricity.
I'm just going to sit tight for a couple of weeks then phone again to recheck once we hit May.
Each time I phone I seem to confuse them more than me, they cant seem to believe that V2 is worse than V1.
I,m only 50% convinced at the moment......... just have to wait and see.Bad Spellers of the world untie0 -

Those are the version 2 units prices, also there aren't different discounts for gas and electricity
Try calling the complaints line or send a complaint email and get verification in writing of what tariff you're on, what your prices are now and what your prices will be as of 30 April.0
