Gas charges
Options
First post for me so Hi everyone!
I have a problem regarding a couple of gas bills I received this week, they are from EDF and are for a property I lived in from Dec 2005 to Aug 2006.
When I moved into the property I asked PowerGen to take over both gas and electric supplies.
I assumed it all went ahead OK but when I moved out of the property I found out that Powergen only took over the gas for one month then it got switched back to EDF for some unknown reason.
One bill is for the month Dec2005-Jan2006 and is £149 just for that one month. The bill has a customer reading as the start point and an actual reading for the end point but I have never contacted EDF until now so don't know where they got the customer reading from.
The other bill they say is dated April 2006-Jul 2007!-Jun 2006, yes it is dated to jul 07 which isn't even here yet, then goes backwards to Jun 06! refunding charges at is goes.
I have emailed PowerGen to see if they have any readings for the gas meter at the property.
I am not sure what to do as the bills from EDF seem to be based on figures plucked out of the air...you might expect a £40 bill for a winter month but £149!?
I need to find out who was in charge of the gas supply and what dates they covered but I'm not sure if any of the suppliers can..EDF don't appear to know and asked me to ring Transco, but Transco said they could not tell me either.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
