Cease and Desist Letter
Hello all, my hours have been cut from 37 to 15 per week, so things have been a bit tight over the last couple of months. As a result, the belt has been tightened. One of the things that had to go was my gym membership. The debt has been refered to heir DCA. I have written to them advising of circs, and offering a £1 a…

Wed 26 Nov - What small DFW things will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym . But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Advice on setting up a new DD amount
Following advice from SC I need to set up a new DD with our energy suppliers for a lesser amount than we are currently paying. Do I just cancel the current DD and ask for a new form from British Gas or can I just adjust the amount to be taken via my bank? Thanks as usual

F&F Robinson Way, Will it affect credit
My sister has a DMP with Stepchange, she's about to sell her house and is going to use some of the equity to pay off her DMP. She owes about £1000 to Robinson way, I have a couple of questions. a) If she offers them a full and final settlement, will this adversely affect her credit file - they no longer show up on her file…

Hi all I have eleven accounts with Lowell for various credit agreements. Couples... do you count your partners debts too or do you only consider your own??
My wife and I are trying to take a more collective approach towards our finances as opposed to keeping things separate. The vast majority of our 40K debt is mine. If you are part of a couple, do you count your partners debts too or do you only consider your own personal debts?? If you haven’t already, join the forum to…

Debt agency chasing but I've paid in full
Today, out of the blue, I received a letter from a debt collection agency for a credit card debt that was paid off in full in 2004. My problem is that it was paid by my father who is now in his 70's. He will worry himself sick if he can't find the documentation to prove it was paid and I definitely don't want the agency…
