Help with Lowell

Hi Guys,
sorry if this had been covered already but i did do my best to search the site and there are so many results that do come up for this company but none of them are quite what i am looking for.
To cut the long story short, I have been a victim of identity fraud by a family member. I do not want them to go to court but my family member has owned up the forgery and is willing to pay debt off with the help of few other family members.
The problem here is that Lowell is asking for £3,800 but they have no invoices to back up that figure. I have asked them to get me the invoice but all they have come back is with a list of 6 items which were all already paid for and is totaling to a sum of £30.
Can you please help me in the right direction regarding this? How do i find out what the correct amount is? My family member is telling me that the total amount should be around £1,600 and not £3,800.
Please help.
Thanks.

if there are interest and charges added this may be the correct figure
who is the original creditor?
you are aware that this will be affecting your credit file which may be more costly to you than just the outstanding balanceThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -

shop direct are catalogs - littlewoods very isme k&co etc
when was the account defaulted? - the entry on your credit file will come off 6 years after this even if the payment is made in full
they will not assign the account to someone elses credit file and the only other way for it to be removed from yours is for it to be proven as fraud - it would not have to go to court if your family member plead guilty but they would then have a criminal record for the crime that they committed
did you report the activity as fraud at the time?

Okay so if you are not going to go down the fraud route then you need to treat it as your debt.
So write to lowell and dispute that alleged outstanding balance and ask them to provide a full transaction breakdown listing all transactions on the account.
State in the letter that you will not be making any payments whilst the account is in dispute and until this is provided.
If you have been speaking to lowell on the phone then do not have any further conversations and keep everything in writing.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

they wont go to prison for it likely a caution, also if taken out online in the last few years a tick box is used.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
