Natwest Joint Account Overdraft - Help
Hello all, This is an odd situation, I broke up with my ex about 3 years ago and we had a joint account which had an overdraft that existed before I was even on the account. He wanted to get a loan from Natwest and they told him that he wouldn't be entitled to the loan but would get the loan if I joined his bank account as…

Financial Disclosure for Existing CCJ
Hi Guys, So I got a CCJ about 4 years ago (for about £23K) and from the judgement I was ordered to pay £152 per month. As I paid off some other debts and my pay increased slightly, I increased my payments voluntarily to £200 per month. This is a struggle sometimes, but will reduce the end date by about a third. For years,…

Progress very slow
Hi all I just wanted a little bit of a moan somewhere people would get what I mean. I have a plan of paying off my debts, of saving money for maternity leave and a longer term plan (once debts gone) to overpay my mortgage. It wasn't always like this but a combination of terror and YNAB has really helped sort it all out.…

Advice on debt management plans
I have recently been signed off work due to illness. I have racked up close to £20K in credit card debt over the years and have just been servicing the debt by paying the minimum amount each month. This was sustainable while I was working as I earn good money. However, I am self employed and have no immediate prospect of…

Thursday 9 October - What small DFW things will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym . But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Effects of full or partial payment
Hello all DFW, Apologies if this is in the wrong section (not sure if it was better here or in the credit report section). I first came here around 2006 after a business failure (long story!), and since then have kept my head down and cracked on. I was left with unsecured debts totaling £103,000 - but thanks to a…

Looking for support
I have recently been discharged from hospital due to a mental health crisis and am working with a lovely advisor from the CAB and also the Business Debtline, with the probable outcome of bankruptcy. This is totally not where I expected to be in life at this stage; I feel like I'm starting all over again. While I am getting…
