I have recently been discharged from hospital due to a mental health crisis and am working with a lovely advisor from the CAB and also the Business Debtline, with the probable outcome of bankruptcy.
This is totally not where I expected to be in life at this stage; I feel like I'm starting all over again. While I am getting help, it's good to know that there are others in similar situations that I have been reading about, so am just popping in to say hello, and thanks for all the inspiration and hope - it will all be okay, right?

Hi knittakiller
I'm really pleased to hear you've got some good people on your side, including our lovely colleagues across the office at Business Debtline.
Easy for me to say that debts are just debts, but the main thing has to be your health, so anything that helps on that score has to be good.
Good luck
Dennis

Welcome aboard, Knitta! I would just add that no matter what happens and what the outcome, the feeling of knowing you're starting something new, the first day of the rest fo your life, knowing you have dealt with or are dealing with everything that has been hanging over you for so long is actually a cause for celebration and not one of embarassment or fear.
People from all walks of life get into financial difficulty. For some it is overspending, others it is not being able to afford sudden and unexpected financial demands and for others still it is simply because they've made some mistakes. Where it all comes together is in recognising you need the help and then taking steps to get that help, something you have done already. Just coming on here and opening up is a huge step. I know when I did it, I felt massive relief to know I'm not alone and I can always come here for advice and support when I need it.
You can too!
