Financial Disclosure for Existing CCJ

Hi Guys,

So I got a CCJ about 4 years ago (for about £23K) and from the judgement I was ordered to pay £152 per month. As I paid off some other debts and my pay increased slightly, I increased my payments voluntarily to £200 per month. This is a struggle sometimes, but will reduce the end date by about a third.

For years, this debt has been handled by solicitors and about six months ago Shoosmiths took it over and I have continued pay at the elevated rate. A couple of days ago in the post I got a letter from them requesting a full financial breakdown so they could work out how much I should be paying.

At the minute I am split between ignoring it or filling it in so that they calculate my payments should reduce. Has anyone any experience of these demands or any advice?

Thanks in advance

How much do you want to reduce them by? Only the court can reduce the payments below the £152.

I understand that it can only be lowered to £152 without resorting to court. I suspect though that they are fishing to get more money out of me and there is a distinct possibility that my income will drop at some point in the new year. At the moment though I want to continue the status quo and continue payments at the current level.

Another impertinent demand from an organisation with no real power. You are probably correct, this is a fishing expedition to try and extract more money. It is your call.

    a) Ignore them and continue to pay the amount you have been
    b) Complete their silly form, but make it calculate out so that what you are paying appears to be reasonable.
    c) Tell them to naff off, you are already paying more than the mandated minimum and that is what you are comfortable with - you will not be paying any more or responding to their demands further.

Pay £152 per month, as ordered.

Put any extra on the bank for difficult months.

Tell them to sod off, you are paying the amount determined by the CCJ.
