What's the worst it's got?
I think I'm kind of hitting an all time low, this year (and last) have been pretty bad, I've got divorced, given up trying to sell the marital home and let the ex have it, moved into a flat, realised I can't afford it, and as of last week, moved into a single ensuite room in a shared appartment at the hospital where I…

Advise re payment holiday/credit card
Hi, Thinking about taking a mortgage payment holiday for 6 mths in order to clear the credit card, this would add an extra approx £15 to monthly payments. At the moment although the min payment is £25 i pay £100 as the interest free period ends in may 09 but its still going to take 4 years to pay, not sure what it would be…

Where can I find a snowball calculator?
I'm looking for a snowball calculator, I've looked at the one on 'Whatsthecost.com' but it only allows you to input the minimum payment as a % of the balance. I've set up standing orders for my cc's, so I want a calculator that will let me put in the balance, then the APR, then the amount I pay per month as £ rather than a…

Wednesday 27/08/08. What small dfw things will you do today???
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

IVA's and Northern Rock
I am in severe amounts of debt (about £40,000 of unsecured) and I seriously believe that an IVA is my only way forward. I see from the IVA PDF that 75% of creditors need to agree to this but the majority of my debt (more than 75%) is held by Northern Rock. Does anyone know if their uncertain financial status likely to…

Hi all, just joined up in the hope of some advice on the best way to deal with an impending addition to my credit payouts each month.
