debt 'help' agencies, is this the start of a new breed?

Hi all
I am really concerned about a new development on the high street where I live (East London)
There is a new shop that has worryingly opened DIRECTLY across the road from the CAB and it is promising to get debts written off, repair credit ratings, reclaim bank charges etc etc.
The offerings are the same as all the internet companies but this is the first high street one that I have seen. Obviously there isn't much I can do about them but I was wondering if this was common in other parts of the country or if this was the start of a new business model for these companies.
I have googled and searched on here and haven't seen any others trading under the same name so it looks like it might be a sole outlet outfit. They also don't offer services or even any odd advice pages over the internet although their one page web page has an email address for them and their postal address.
So my question is....
Have you got any of this sort of place near you?
