Hopefully quite a quick one but I'm a bit confused. I wrote to Smile with my budget and proposals for reduced payments (I have a credit card and current account with them) They wrote back flatly refusing and demanding all sorts of things - copies of mortgage statements, payslips etc etc. Oh and they said they were going to…

An outstanding debt - please help!
Some years ago I took out a 3 year interest free deal for a new sofa (credit with First National). The final payment was due on 01/08/07 but First National cancelled the DD and sent me a bill instead on 16/08/07 for £75.12. This bill did not give any timescales for payment and I paid this in full on 19/09/07 but since then…

Changing bank accounts
I hope someone can give me some advice on this one: I'm about to send off my forms for a DMP with Pay Plan, and have just opened a new bank account as one of my CCs is with my current bank. Pay goes into the account on the 26th normally (it'll be the 25th this month) and all DDs come out on the 1st of the month. So should…

New turn of direction
Morning people. Hope you're all ok? Since I was last one here, a new situation has arose - my dad's accountant had a look at my problems and worked out that it would be far better for me to take out a loan, pay off the credit cards, existing loan etc etc and just have one monthly payment. This way I'm actually saving money…

Bank Won't Cancel Standing Order.
I am currently under negotiations for an IVA. However, this has been adjourned now on 2 occasions and my IVA IP is starting to take DD. IVA APPROVED. Good or Bad, Let me know?
Well my IVA has been approved, 48k agreed at £300 p/m for 60 month followed by remortgage input of £12500. Equates to £30500 or 43p in the £ to the creditors, the balance of circa 9k to the IP. Total equates to 65p in the £. How do this sound compared to other IVA experiencees. Would love to hear your comments.…

Stupid question alert - balance transfers!

I did a BT from my Skycard to my Egg card 4 days ago, Egg picked it up straight away, but the balance hasn't gone from Sky yet, so I currently have double the debt I started with  How long should I wait before I get worried? When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. Making Offers to Creditors: Do I have to declare how much I've got?
Hiya, As a result of getting compensation for a road accident I'll have about 40-45% of what I owe my creditors in 4 weeks or so. I haven't decided yet whether to approach the creditors myself to make full or final settlement offers or use a CAB Debt Adviser. That aside, do I have to declare the total amount I've got and…
