Mortgage application and signing up to credit rating websites.
Hi everyone, I'm about to have credit checks run on me and my partner, in order to get a mortgage. I'd like to check my own ratings online, just in case there is anything wrong. Would signing up to Noddle and Equifax add a new footprint on my credit history? Would that reflect badly on me? I am already signed up to…

How do I increase my credit score?
Myself and my partner applied for a mortgage quite recently and it was rejected due to his credit score. Now we are financially linked due to the mortgage application being in joint names. This isn't a problem however, both of credit scores have now dropped significantly because of the mortgage rejection. My question is…

Default on Credit File
The day after Lloyds TSB filed a default against us - not in the Court - we paid off all debt to them in full - this default has now been sitting on our credit file for two years and I wondered if there is any route that I can take to ask Lloyds to remove this? Any help gratefully appreciated. Ruth

disputed item on credit search
Hello all, I have recently tried to apply for a mortgage and got turned down with the advice to check my credit score for myself and my husband. We have additional unsecured debts of £26,000 (of which £7k is in my husband's name). I arranged payment plans with my creditors to repay…

I just wondered if anyone is able to help me on the following. Below the unknown person’s name was my own business name, which is why I opened it, and there was information of the…

Some questions, if I may
Back in 2008 I was made redundant. I spent the next year caring for a poorly friend and when she died I took on her son. Consequently, my eye was off the ball when it came to my finances. However, although I stopped paying my bank loans and credit cards (all household stuff was dealt with), I didn't enter into any…
