Just checked my credit file using 'checkmyfile' apparently everything is all good with the agencies it checks, apart from experian having record or a default that happened in 2008 and is due to be removed from my file October this year.
Now having apparently used 100% of my available credit, all £1,848! I wondered that when the default is removed should I see and immediate improvement or is it going to take a while?
My credit file is excellent apart from that default in 2008, all payements have been on time. Everything in the green, according to the website my age (26) is a big factor in me not being able to get credit too?
Thanks

If that is your only default then yes once it is removed you should see an immediate improvement in your chance of being accepted for credit.
I would think at 26 your age is unlikely to be much of a factor at all.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Did you mean Equifax? Experian hardly pass on any records to CheckMyFile, including account information. I'd go with Tixy with regards to the default removal causing an improvement and your age not being a worry. CheckMyFile have a pretty good website but when you near an application for credit it would be best to get a statutory credit report directly from all three, and you may well find more records that weren't passed on to CheckMyFile.0
