Default on Credit File

The day after Lloyds TSB filed a default against us - not in the Court - we paid off all debt to them in full - this default has now been sitting on our credit file for two years and I wondered if there is any route that I can take to ask Lloyds to remove this?
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Short answer No, it is a true reflection of how you have managed credit in the past, it will drop off in another 4 years.0

Is it six years then?0

Yes it will remain on your file for 6 years in total from the date of insertion.
Patiently waiting 3 more years til mine drop off - lesson learnt!!0 -

You could write to ask them to consider removing them as a gesture of goodwill. Worth a shot especially if you only just missed the deadline per the default notices (they may well say no but nothing to lose by trying).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
