Default on Credit File

The day after Lloyds TSB filed a default against us - not in the Court - we paid off all debt to them in full - this default has now been sitting on our credit file for two years and I wondered if there is any route that I can take to ask Lloyds to remove this?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Ruth

Short answer No, it is a true reflection of how you have managed credit in the past, it will drop off in another 4 years.

Yes it will remain on your file for 6 years in total from the date of insertion.

You could write to ask them to consider removing them as a gesture of goodwill. Worth a shot especially if you only just missed the deadline per the default notices (they may well say no but nothing to lose by trying).
