Timing of credit card purchase
I have a simple (I think) question about the timing of a credit card purchase. My credit card has a statement date of the 18th of the month so is due to be generated tomorrow. I have a purchase which I want to make but would like it to appear on the June statement rather then the May one. Due to work commitments it would…

Post Office Platinum Mastercard
My advice is don't apply for a Post Office Mastercard. My recent experience with their inability to set up a Direct Debit has been appalling and resulted in a deluge of ill informed letters warning me of late payment which was entirely due to their error. Even worse is when you try contact them as its not run by the Post…

Credit Card Eligibility Calculator
I used the Credit Card Eligibility Calculator to look for a new cashback credit card as my capital one card has stopped doing cashback. It did say that it won't affect your credit score. I have had a new search entered on my credit file, by HDD-price comparison-Barclaycard (two entries on my file) on the same day I used…

Best "non-Amex" reward card for £10,000
Me and husband are having £10,000 spent on the garden over the next year so I want a new card that has cashback or rewards. The shop don't take AMEX though so I can't use that. Any ideas the next best one to get. The 10k won't be paid on one go so the limit isn't important. Thanks Karen x

Confused by what credit card to get!
Currently have a Amex Gold Rewards that I use for 95% of daily spend. Looking to switch to something that will give me at a minimum 12 months of 0% spend. I also need to balance transfer about £400 from an older Natwest credit card, ideally I would like that to be part of a 0% offer too. Would love to only get one new card…

A Balance on a Next Catalogue / Store Card, not eligible for a balance transfer as not a credit card, however I have a 0% on purchase promotion, if I login to the next account and 'pay' the balance using the card is that for all intents and purposes a 'purchase' I can't think why not? Or am I safer paying the bill with any…

Cashback vs savings vs 0% Balance transfer
With all the current long periods of 0% balance transfers and cashback offers, eg the Santander 1-2-3 card, I'm wondering whether these actually work in your favour vs just saving money in a account? I'm thinking of using the 1-2-3 card for weekly supermarket and petrol and spend around £100 a week on them..... thoughts…

Getting UK Credit Card while not living in UK
Hi, I applied for a credit card at my old address in the UK because I wanted to have a CC to use abroad. I haven't lived in the UK for over 4 years and I have no plan to ever return. Supercard Financials
Still don't understand how Travelex make any money from this product but I have to accept Martin's explanation that it is a loss leader. As they back to back transactions with your credit/debit card, they need to pay their acquirer a fee which will exceed any interchange they make on the transaction, they also need to pay…
