£ Prepaid Credit Card advise

remorseless

can anyone advise on a prepaid credit card in pounds to use for everyday transactions in the UK?
A family member is coming to visit for few months and it'd be easier to have a card in local currency.

Ideally the card should be:
- reloadable
- for non resident
- modest/fair fees

any ideas?

+1 for Pockit which I have. Since the Kalixa card was reorganised, Pockit is probably the cheapest for UK transactions. Sounds like Indian call centres though. 99p for the card and most transactions, i.e. load at Paypoint, UK ATM withdrawals. Free to load online by debit card, bank transfer and BACS and free P.O.S. transactions

Edit: Probably where Pockit falls down is their lack of processes connected with a change of address. Proof of ID and address including passport, bank statement and credit card statement needs to be sent to them by post and they don't even attempt to verify by electronic means which could be inconvenient for some people: Paperless statements leaves the only option to close the account. In fact Pockit overall is pretty much primitive and they score on price alone.
